Week 3

Week 3

[Two weeks in, and all at once four people are dead. Chitose, Miki, Lucina, and Tsurugi - whatever the circumstances, however any of you may feel, their rooms are just as empty at the end of the week. If you check your P.I.P.s, you'll find that their pictures on the profile page have gone monochrome.

C.E.C.E.'s morning announcement comes like clockwork on Sunday. This time, though, there's an addendum to her usual message:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( Welcome to Week 3! Don't forget to check in and submit your memory regains! Turn in your benefactor threads for sweet loot, too! ))

You're no bother. I was hoping to speak with you, if you're amenable to it.
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-29 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course! [hic] Why wouldn't I be. About what?
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
About you, primarily.

I may have gotten intense about the idea of what you are during the trial. I thought you to be a suspect. But Olguin's answers, obviously, didn't clear much up.

If your profile is correct, then we all know you aren't exactly human. So there's no secret there. Everyone here comes from various worlds with various levels of technology and magic and space travel. Whatever it is that you are, it isn't going to frighten us off. [Tsurugi's transformation was surprising, but in the end, it hadn't terrified them all off to hating him.]

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
About me?

[Crud.]

The profile must be wrong, then? [hic] Of course I'm human. [hic] It's not really important, is it? You said it didn't really matter.

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
...Are you afraid of me?
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
No-o-ot really? [hic] Should I be?

[This line of questioning, on the other hand-]

...Maybe just a little. But I know you're not a bad person!

Are you aware that you have a nervous tic?
in4apounding: (look down)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
No?

[hic]

[...]

...Yes. You're very smart, Mister Kaiba.

[She says it like she's not terribly thrilled about it at the moment.]

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I know.

If you want to keep playing at being human, that's your prerogative. But if something happens that informing of us of what all you can do is imperative, I hope you decide to let us know. [Like Tsurugi, but...he didn't know.]

We have far bigger things to worry about than whatever potential issues you think there are going to be. You're one of us.

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't hidden anything about what I can do, I promise.

[There's probably a few things that haven't come up, but she said she was capable of smashing open that door? That's the important part, right?]

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough.

[But on that related note, because he can do things in an indirect way too:] May I ask--dodecaswordsman?
in4apounding: (well that's just improbable)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
My title?

[Clearly a completely innocent line of questioning.]

As far as I know it refers to my weapons- I haven't had them since we got here. It's a set of twelve swords that can act as a unit or independently during a fight, to take on single or multiple opponents. My father designed and built the system.

[Of this, at least, she sounds very proud.]
playthedamncard: (concern)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you possibly control them all?
in4apounding: (i am so confused)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-30 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
By [something something we just don't know because goddammit Rooster Teeth]
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-30 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
...I see. Are weapons like that common in your world?
in4apounding: (Default)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-31 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
No, mine is unique.

[She sounds very proud of this, at least.]

My father didn't just design the system, he invented the technology behind it! He's a VERY brilliant scientist.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-31 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Perhaps brilliant enough to make a fully aware and cognizant robot girl hmmm???] What for? It would be effective to mow down a lot of enemies at once, and yet, it's not a typical weapon of war. Not explosive, not a gun.
in4apounding: (um)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-10-31 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Of course not don't be ridiculous haha]

Of course not? Just a gun isn't going to handle every type of Grimm we have to face, a Huntress' weapon needs versatility for melee and long-range combat.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-01 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
And just what is a 'Grimm' that one needs such versatile weaponry?
in4apounding: (let me explain u a thing)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-11-01 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I keep forgetting not everyone knows, sorry. They're such a huge part of life on Remnant- but, um. They're giant monsters, they're drawn to negative emotion and attack humans on instinct. Even normal soldiers have trouble with them, that's why there are Huntsmen and Huntresses.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-01 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
So you're a specialized kind of military unit. Aren't you a little young for that? [Haaa, cuz, see, it doesn't say her age, and she's not human, and also he's young, look at all these legitimate teenage and teenage-looking kids in this game what the fuck]
in4apounding: (simpler)

[personal profile] in4apounding 2017-11-01 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I will be once I graduate. Not all Huntresses choose to also enter the military, but I'm going to.

...And most trainees enter one of the Huntsmen Academies at seventeen. My friend Ruby was admitted to Beacon at fifteen because she impressed the headmaster so much.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-02 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
So Hunters are a separate breed all their own, not a branch of the military force. Who regulates you, the government, or another body?
in4apounding: (let me explain u a thing)

It's been forever since I saw the WoR on this I probably got parts wrong

Each kingdom has a ruling council, and then there's a council that oversees the relations between all the kingdoms.
