week 4

[Four weeks in the Starfield Penitentiary and seven people have lost their lives to Blaze Dudely's cruel game. At some point the robots cleaned up the mess left behind and by Sunday the involved rooms (including the fridge) are all clean and free of blood. In fact there's no sign left of any of the deaths that have happened on the ship so far by at least the next day. The only physical signs that people are gone are the empty beds.

On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, in the space between the infirmary and the exercise yard. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

Does it look the same?

It's still creepy. They've got to the trouble of recreating something from your past for what? To throw you off?

Close enough.

I have no idea. They could have picked a more valuable item than these.

I wonder why they do this. Are they trying to throw us off balance...? Or just prove that they have access to our lives?

Probably both. Whoever is controlling Dudely must have a sadistic sense of humor.

If he's being controlled at all.

[He just can't pin down what's happening here. Did Dudely take advantage a situation already set in motion? And someone else set this place up, wiped their memories and plucked objects from their lives like apples off a tree? Or is he working with someone for the express goal of finding this "it" of his?]

Not that we can say one way or the other.

[He had to be working with someone. Maybe whoever bought the jail? There had to be a reason...]

I doubt he's working alone. His timing, his insistence on these titles... Even if he's searching for someone, something doesn't seem right. For example, if he thought this 'it' was among us then why didn't he just kill every single one of us when he first boarded?

[... Point.]

I'd say avoiding excessive damage, but given how he's acted so far that doesn't seem likely. Did he make an opportunity for himself off the back of something someone else had planned, or is he working within the guidelines of one set up just for him? [Will rubs his temple.]

I don't know.

[She gives a sigh.]

I don't either. I only have a feeling he may be working for someone... it would make some sense.

We could speculate forever, but we just don't have the information to piece everything together...

Yet. That's the key phrase right there. We don't have the information yet.

So we start looking around for some. Anything is better than knowing nothing.
