week 4

[Four weeks in the Starfield Penitentiary and seven people have lost their lives to Blaze Dudely's cruel game. At some point the robots cleaned up the mess left behind and by Sunday the involved rooms (including the fridge) are all clean and free of blood. In fact there's no sign left of any of the deaths that have happened on the ship so far by at least the next day. The only physical signs that people are gone are the empty beds.

On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, in the space between the infirmary and the exercise yard. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

[Then it fell to Pyrrha to show the emotional side of things. She didn't expect to hear that from Apollo, but, should she have?]

...Oh. Well, you were right. [She nods slowly, hands gripping bedsheet.] That announcement was definitely... The offer he made to bring someone back if you just murder someone, even more people if others are killed too...

It's just... horrible, don't you think?

It is. I can understand the allure, though.

[The movement is awkward but she places a hand over Pyyrha's. What would Orchis have done? Well. She would have done this in public, for one. Apollo should have put more distance between them.]

If Orchis had been dead I would have considered it. [There was a pause then she gives Pyyrha's hand slow squeeze.] She isn't. He promises these things yet I doubt he means any of it.

[Ah... Her gaze drifts down, distracted from her own thoughts by Apollo's simple gesture. The gentle squeezing of her hand, the reassurance, it was doing much to help her, more then she ever thought.]

I... [The mention of Orchis does catch her some.] I can't judge you for that, it would be like a miracle if it actually worked.

[Ever so gently, she shifted her hand until it fit into Apollo's. Possibly subconsciously.] Even if he doesn't, I'm worried about it. It seems so... sudden.

It would be useless for him to have all of us die at once. He has to be working for someone. If he wanted everyone dead he could have just ripped a bigger hole in the ship.

[Her words are very rough. Still, she's trying. She's trying really hard.] I won't let it happen. Not yet.

[She IS trying, Pyrrha can tell with her tone of voice that Apollo was speaking carefully.]

He would have, which makes it worse that he's dragging this out like it's some sort of game. [It hurts, but at the same time, she knows what Apollo is.]

No, you won't let that happen, will you?

It just means he's giving us more of a chance to turn the tables. [A cat playing with a mouse can still let the mouse go if it runs fast enough.]

No. I won't. [Beat. Uh--] I have to get back to Orchis.

We'll have to take that chance then, find a way to escape from here with as few injuries as possible. Then... I'm not sure. [Actually escaping this place and defeating Blaze sounds like a job steep enough without the effects on their powers everyone seems to have.

Fighting wouldn't be easy, downright impossible in their current state. But there were also... other things to think about.]

...I know. You're worried about Orchis, arent you?

He must have a ship. We can commedeer that and go from there. [Sounds easy to her. Er. Compared to other things she's faced. By itself? Difficult but easy compared to facing down an empire you helped create.]

...

[Oh yeah.]

Of course I am, Pyyrha. I remembered more information that I found out about her condition; we might be able to cure her. You'll... be able to meet her.

[She hopes.]

Uh, maybe one thing at a time. [It... doesn't sound so easy to her, but with all of them working together, anything could be possible. Hard work and determination, that's what got her so far.]

...Really? Oh, that's wonderful, Apollo! I would love to meet her.

[She's still aware of the hand in her hand. Is it... warm in here?]

And... I want to thank you, for making sure I was feeling alright.

[And she leans over, giving Apollo's cheek a quick peck.]

[Nothing was impossible. Still, the case of Orchis was still weighing heavy on her mind but that was for another time.]

[Oh. Oh. What. That's a lot more intense than a hand kiss.] Ah...Pyyrha...

[What should she do?? Maybe just lean in closer?]

[Show her some stars, Apollo. Yup. That sounds nice. Or maybe uh, tell her later?]

It really... umm...

[Oh this. Um, it's happening. She should... just lean in as well, shouldn't she? She was just planning on the cheek kiss but. This is happening too.]

[Oh. Uh. What if she just... kind of leans in and pushes her forehead against Pyyrha's. Should she kiss her? She doesn't know.]

[OH THAT

is both better and worse then what she was expecting. um. But, this is nice. Their foreheads together like this. It is.]

No. It... was alright.

[Should she kiss her again?]

I wouldn't hate it.

I'll admit... I wouldn't either.

[And... that's her cue then? Yeah, she shifts a little until she can press forward and gently bring her lips to Apollo's.]

[Oh... Oh. They're doing it. It's not much more than a peck but... They're pressing lips together.

A teenager stole her first kiss.]

[Excuse you she is seventeen, which is ALMOST eighteen.

And it really is not much more then the cheek peck, but it's still something alright. A real kiss, the first for Pyrrha too that she knows of. And when it's said and done, she pulls away and...]

[Is suddenly awkward. What. What now.]

[She is still a teenager!

[What do they do next.]

I'm... [No, she can't be sorry for this.]

We can just... stay here for a while?

[Is that appealing? It is to her.]

That...

[Well.]

Good, that's... [really good, honestly.]

I'm sorry, it's just that I'm new to... this.

[all this. Especially prison.]

[She's cuddling up to you in spiky armor. Do you think she knows what she's doing.]

I will admit my ignorance of such things.

[Yeah um, maybe they can stall the cuddling for right now. No? Okay well, being close is fine too.]

Oh? Well, as long as we're both lost about it, I guess that's okay.

[She'd rest her head on Apollo's shoulder, but that doesn't seem like a good idea right now.]

...This wasn't what I expected.
