week 4

[Four weeks in the Starfield Penitentiary and seven people have lost their lives to Blaze Dudely's cruel game. At some point the robots cleaned up the mess left behind and by Sunday the involved rooms (including the fridge) are all clean and free of blood. In fact there's no sign left of any of the deaths that have happened on the ship so far by at least the next day. The only physical signs that people are gone are the empty beds.

On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, in the space between the infirmary and the exercise yard. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

(( ooc: Don't forget to turn in your AC for Week 3, submit your memory regains, and put in your benefactor threads! ))

That seems common enough for many the other foods here. [He picks up one and takes a bite, then smiles a delighted smile.] You've done well. They taste right delicious.
helladoptera: american girls (to all of you)

[ A noise of relief. ]

Oh thank God, I was worried they'd be... spicy or something.
silverguitarhero: ([Close grin])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-04 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
I know some of the beans were. Though I suppose it's easier to grow spicy beans than make chickens that can lay spicy eggs.
helladoptera: we'll feel it all tonight (we'll make things right)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-04 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. Can't imagine that's good for the poor baby chickens.
silverguitarhero: ([Close grin])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-04 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
Mayhap they would be adjusted to it. [And technically birds can't even taste spice, but he doesn't really know that.]
helladoptera: and if you believe (in the resolute urgency of now)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-04 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ She laughs. ]

Or they'd come out as baby dragons or something.

A basilisk or cockatrice might better fit a chicken egg.
helladoptera: through the blizzard (someday we will foresee obstacles)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-04 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, true. But for basilisks you have to... put a frog on it, right? It's been a while since I played DnD.

I believe the legends say it has to be a toad, actually. [Although he blinks at her second comment.] D-n-d?
helladoptera: tonight, so bright, tonight (there's not a chance tonight)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-05 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
A toad? I guess that makes sense, they're more... gross, I guess, though that's a little meaner than I'd like to put it.

[ Oh right, people keep coming from worlds where monsters are real. ]

It's a uh... role-playing game. You get together and sort of... tell a story together, I guess, but with rules like a game. There are all kinds of monsters in it.

It may have something to do with the texture of the skin, as well. [Toads are bumpy, so that's kind of like scales? He does look interested in what she's talking about, though.]

I presume it's a story about heroes that fight against those monsters, then?
helladoptera: the more you change (we will never be the same)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-05 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yup! You make your own heroes, and one person, called the Dungeon Master, creates the world and plans out all the people they meet and the monsters they fight. It's super fun.
silverguitarhero: ([Smile])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-05 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
It certainly sounds alike something the writers here would enjoy.
helladoptera: believe in me, believe (believe)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-05 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah, probably. Who knows, maybe we'll get the materials to run a campaign one of these weeks.
silverguitarhero: ([Party])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-05 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
What would you need for such?
helladoptera: of your life tonight (the indescribable moments)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-05 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well... you need a set of special dice, and the core books. Everything else we could make ourselves with enough paper and the art room.
silverguitarhero: ([Thinking])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-05 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
These books can not be found in the library here?
helladoptera: and the embers never fade... (if you held yourself up to the light)

[personal profile] helladoptera 2017-09-05 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't see them, no.
silverguitarhero: ([Disappointed])

[personal profile] silverguitarhero 2017-09-06 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's a right shame. I suppose it's one of those games with too many rules and variants to simply memorize?
