[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.

Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]

The most baffling thing about your kind is that you're not the only one who would do such a thing.

There's more than one human fool out there. Are vampires always sensible?

[Since vampires would never do such a stupid thing, apparently.]

It's difficult to say. There's really no equivalent situation; there's nothing that trumps a vampire on the food chain, except another vampire. And we're typically not inclined to help our own kind unless there's a sense of loyalty between a thrall and a master, or there's a debt owed.

As a matter of fact, many vampires turn around and become vampire hunters.

Do you do that, while you're slaying oddities, aberrations, and all those other things on your title?

Ka ka! I have quite the reputation in the world of the night, human. My presence is very strong, and acts as a sort of magnet for things that are "aberrant". Lesser oddities are drawn to my power, and flock to my presence. From there, I either slay them with Heartspan, or eat them outright.

I'm not the hunter, though. If anything, I'm the hunted.

...That could be very annoying, I imagine, if you wanted to get some peace and quiet for a while and kept being interrupted by oddities.

[Does she ever get time to just relax? Maybe do a crossword?]

It's what I do for fun, human! My pride as a vampire is on the line, when I'm challenged by an oddity, or a vampire hunter. But my strength is typically so much that I tend to beat them rather handily.

I didn't mean I thought you were at risk of losing.

But even for humans who usually enjoy fighting, sometimes it's nice to get some quiet time to yourself. Do you never want to sit down and relax for a while?

Mm, every now and again, I travel to Antarctica. The cold doesn't quite affect me much, and the lack of sunlight is refreshing, for a vampire. Neither human nor oddity can reach me there, typically.

Going to Antarctica would be a good way to not be bothered. It's good that you have somewhere to get away when you want to.

[acerolaorion]

It isn't as though I have a secret base there, or anything of the sort. I could hardly call it, or anywhere for that matter, my "home". But the atmosphere is peaceful enough, to breathe and view the aurora australis.

That's good enough for me. ...Is it very beautiful? I've never seen it in person.
