[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.

Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]

Notes, details, anything that might mean something. [His voice was distant and distracted. It took him another few seconds to finish his sentence, at which point he blinked up at the young man.]

In places like this, every little detail matters. It might be our talents, or something that Dudley Pyre says, but at some point, one little fragment might just make the difference. [He paused for a moment, chuckling to himself.]

That, or I'm just wasting everyone's time.

[ He pulls up a chair, grinning at Dudley Pyre. ]

I'll help if you want me to. Don't know if I'll be as eloquent as the Champion Silver Tongue but I'll do what I can.

Silver tongue. [He let out a scoff.] Whoever assigned those has some explaining to do. Why can't I be the Wordsmith.

[He shook his head, letting out a sigh as he did.]

Don't worry about making it sound pretty -- just tell me anything you've noticed that might be important. Or hell, anything you know from back home might help too.

[ He snorts. Yeah, right. ]

Anything I noticed? [ He leans back in his chair, hands behind his head. ] Talked to Doc a while back. He confirmed that our memories are gone, and that we'll start getting them back soon.

Memories? Explains the age differences then.

[At least he had another decade and a half to look forward to. He was damn near convinced that Bartrand's expedition would kill him. Unless he spent that time running around in the dark, but he got the feeling he looked too good having lived his life like that.]

[ Like the faint scarring on his arm, the scars and wounds he doesn't remember getting. ]

Your thing? Even if I knew it was your thing I wouldn't stop. There's room in this place for two nicknamers.

It's going to get confusing if we keep it up. We're going to have to coordinate, and that's just going to be a mess. You better quit while you're ahead.

Oh, nothing so dry. [He tapped his chin.] I think I'd just introduce you to a lovely woman. Bianca's the name, and she's a real deadly thing.

Lovely woman, huh? Sorry, I'm already engaged.

[The dwarf was quick to grimace.]

Don't worry, she only has eyes for me, kid. Meeting her is more of a metaphor, if you will. A thinly veiled threat from your new friend.

[ Well, he laughs a little. ]

Message sent loud and clear. I'm guessing Bianca's not an actual woman, though.

You're lucky she's not here to hear that! [Shakes his head.] Most beautiful thing I've ever met.

Yeah? [ He's equal parts amused and curious. ] You wanna tell me about this love of your life?

And what, have you try to steal her away with your dashing good looks? [A chuckle.]

She's got strong arms, and is a wicked shot. Downright one of a kind, if you ask me

[ He grins. ]

Sounds like a hell of a woman. Does she keep you in line?

Better man than half the ones I've ever met then. Good for you.

[That's what you get for living in a bar though.]

Mm, she keeps me out of trouble, more often than not. Wouldn't be here without her. Metaphorically, that is.

[He hopes.]

[ Shrug. ]

Seems like you're the kind of guy who needs someone like that. You let her know how much you appreciate her?

Oh, always. I'm sure it gets on everyone's nerves but... [He trailed off with a shrug.]

Do I get to hear about this fiancee, then?

Only if you want to.

[ There's a small smile, though. ]

Of course I do. I wouldn't ask if I wasn't.

[Varric leaned back in his chair, hands folded over his chest. He's ready to get learned, Noct.]

Alright then.

[ Man, where does he start? ]

Luna's... been my friend since we were kids. She was a princess until Niflheim invaded Tenebrae. [ He says that part pretty sourly. ] She's an Oracle, and she travels around healing people who are hurt or sick.

[ It's more complicated than that, but whatever. ]

She's kind, and pretty much everyone loves her. Honestly, the world would be way worse off without her.

[ He pauses. ]

Our marriage is arranged, but... that's alright with me.

Oracle? Where I come from, that's a mage. [He didn't argue with anything else. In fact, the thought was almost nice. Anders would certainly enjoy the idea of a mage being able to roam freely and practice her gift.

There was mnore he could comment on, but for the time being, it seemed better to focus on the topic at hand. He did make a mental note to ask about Niflheim and Tenebrae later, though.]

She sounds like a good woman. And hell, you seem like a good man. Must be a good match then, right?

[Being in an arranged marriage sounded just a little antiquated, even from his medieval standpoint, but he wouldn't question it if Noctis seemed happy.]

She feels the same about you, right?

Basically, yeah.

[ Geez, he's getting embarrassed. Noctis lifts a shoulder in a shrug. ]

I'd like to hope she does, yeah. She didn't complain about the marriage, far as I heard.

I'm sure she does. She seems to nice of a woman, to not tell you the truth about her feelings.

[To be honest, Varric wasn't entirely convinced of his words, but he didn't want to discourage Noctis, either. He seemed happy enough with the set up, and confident enough in their bond. The dwarf's own thoughts didn't matter.]

I'm sure she'll be happy to see you again, once you're out of here.
