week 2
[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.
Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 1 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

[Having missed nearly a week of investigating and, of course, snooping, Varric was back at it in full-force. Being all together not far from Varric's own room made Will a perfect target.]
Looks like a story to me. Care to tell it?

[It's nothing to hide, really. He holds out the badge - it has a picture of him on the front, fairly recent looking, and his name.]
But it does make me wonder what else of mine they might be keeping a hold of.
no subject
Let me put it this way -- there's a lot on there that a person like me just doesn't understand. [Varric shrugged though -- he wouldn't press Will if he wasn't interested in talking about it.]
We can only hope they have some of our stuff. I'd like to see my books again. Or Bianca.
no subject
[He... well. He'd been in hospital for a while. Was he even semi-officially employed by them anymore after what had happened?]
Bianca? You think they've kept a person to one side?
no subject
[Will didn't seem like a Templar, though. Not enough haughty, religious arrogance.]
No, no, nothing like that. [Varric let out a laugh. Had Will been talking to Noctis? Imagine if that rumor got around.]
She's my crossbow. A weapon. It'd be nice to have something to defend myself with is all.
no subject
A templar? Like the Catholic Military order of Knight Templars?
[What.]
... You named your crossbow Bianca.
[... well. Okay then Varric. You do you.]
no subject
No, the Chantry's Templars. The army that protects us from magic and mages? [So... basically yeah, the Catholic military.]
Most good weapons have names. Why do you look so surprised?
no subject
Ah. No such thing as magic or mages where I'm from. Are they related to religion, at all? Those Templars of yours.
I can't speak for everyone, but I never named my FBI-issued pistol. Do you take better care of it if you do?
no subject
[At Will's second question, Varric cracked a grin.]
Don't know about that. I'm sure I could name a stick and not give two shits about it. Guess it depends on what the name is and where the thing came from. I'd tell you about Bianca's origins, but that's the one story I promised to keep to myself.
no subject
[Hmm.]
Fair enough. Can I ask if it's named after someone?
no subject
[He didn't know how to feel about that, but at least Will had supplemented him with a perfect subject change. He didn't need to dwell on the implications of their shared organizations, shared pursuit of the not-easily understood.]
You can. [But Varric's grin was sharp and impish, chasing away the shadow in his eyes. He took a step back, lifting his hands up into the air.]
But that doesn't mean I'll answer.
no subject
Okay then, I'll bite. Who's Bianca?
[He's curious to see what he'll get out of it. Give him a story, Champion of the Silver Tongue.]
no subject
[A wink.]
How about that?
no subject
We'll be naming entire planets after your friend if she pulls that off.
no subject
[How would the real Bianca feel about it, Varric found himself wondering, before he chased the thoughts away.]
no subject
[Not that he genuinely thinks such a rescue will happen, but...]
