Week 1

[After being introduced to their Counselor, the inmates are left to their own devices to explore the open areas of the ship as they please. The counselor's office hours are available if any of the inmates wish to speak to him privately and, throughout the week, the cook and the janitor can be found here and there.

Each morning the inmates are awakened by Dr. Price's voice over the intercoms located in each cell announcing the time as 7 am. Breakfast is served each morning in the mess hall from 7 am to 8 am, lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..

According to Dr. Price, this prison exists to provide rehabilitation opportunities that wouldn't be available in a normal prison.

...Also, he doesn't poison the coffee in his office, if anyone was worried about that.

I'm in the mafia. That's why I asked him about jurisdiction - any prison in my home would be willing to take me.

My point is, we are all in the same boat. Whether criminal or enforcer or anything in between.

I don't know what you would do even if you had your badge. Does this prison have a smaller prison in it?

...If I shuffled the box around, I could investigate while standing in it, but it wouldn't be very practical.

I don't. But I wouldn't mind a short box-prison sentence if that would help us get along.

True, but seriously: there's no guards anywhere? Shit, why were we even able to get out of our cells?

I think if we're not in a normal jail, we don't exactly need to go for a normal box jail...

That's a very good point. But the box jail is mostly symbolic, so it's different from an actual jail that's a weird jail.

...so you're saying that symbolic jail needs to be more realistic than real jail.

Yes. A writer has to be more realistic than real life, because if something happens, no one questions whether or not it could have happened.
