Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.

Put up a sign, 'hedgehog crossing'? A speed limit? [Someone thinks he's mildly funny.]

I apologize. You're right, there's only so much space, and I didn't realize I was being reckless. [He retrieves the book he was engrossed in.] I'm not going stir-crazy just yet, but I can imagine that happening to people in this place under pressure.

[She almost scowls, but the apology saves him.]

No one got hurt this time, so it's alright... Now that we've had a chance to look around there isn't much here. I wouldn't be surprised if people were getting bored.

I had plenty of space where I came from. [Although he still probably ran around in corridors on space stations at speeds he should not have...] And plenty of energy. I'll be more careful. [Book goes back on his little pile.] More alert. A few minutes more of a run, and then I'll settle back down.

Maybe we should try and arrange something... A race perhaps?

[It wouldn't be a very fair one though]

Heh, I don't think that'll work. [That actually sounds kind of haughty. Yeah, no, not very fair.] Not unless there's a track somewhere we've overlooked.

I think we would have noticed that. [There's a teeny, tiny quirk of the lips there.] But we will need to thing something. I'm fine with the library but others...

We have some feisty types, yes. Not everyone wants to sit in on a card game or paint or watch a movie.

Certainly not the game they were playing the other day... [cringing forever at that thing]

...Well. [cough, ahem] I can see the appeal, though clearly not for everyone.

The point is, some of the Champions are going to need a little more actionable stimulation. [Wait until people start getting condoms in their dumbwaiters??] I don't even know if McBurn enjoys anything, but it's probably nothing that's offered up here.

It was disgusting... [She didn't even get told the rules.]

You mean the soldiers? ...At least I think that some of them are soldiers.

It was kind of funny. [Who's surprised darkhog can have a dark sense of humor raise your hand.]

...Hm, yes, some of them might be soldiers of some sort. [He even breaks out the profile page on the PIP to check.] Margulis. McBurn. Xander. Even Yurika. [Possibly himself, but he doesn't understand that occupation title and thus elects to ignore it.] Though anyone can get restless without something more active to do.

... [Judging so hard that there are no words.]

How did you find that funny!? [Did you see what cards she threw down?]

...I got a card that said 'beating your wife' twice...

And those aren't funny cards, and would not be cards that would be funny played with anything else. I didn't say they were all gems.

All the cards I got were like that! [It's why she threw them.]

They're outrageous and at least mildly offensive! That's not bad with the right sense of humor about it.

Mildly offensive? My brother in law is less offensive, and he's a philanderer.

[okay, maybe not as offensive.]

That is...definitely offensive. [Which alllllso means her sister is dying or dead, cool.]
