Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.

Enjoy your week, Champions.]

That's true enough. He definitely doesn't seem like the helpful type.

And he has that tone. [Belittling. Haughty. Fuck that guy. Pot, kettle, just you wait.] He's playing games while playing games, but at least some information is better than nothing. Getting under his skin got him more reticent.

So the way you got all that information was really by threatening him?
damnfourthemerald: (I can't change things I've done)

[personal profile] damnfourthemerald 2017-02-17 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I did not threaten him. I said something I thought was innocuous, and it hit some kind of nerve. I got most of the information simply by asking him.

I don't know that threatening him would even be effective, but you're welcome to try it.

I didn't think it would. Especially since they know we're missing memories.

[He really isn't sure that he's missing anything, but then again...GUN agent...]

We might be able to get back what was lost without them.

Maybe if we remind ourselves unconsciously! Like in the movies, where the amnesiac hero sees the ring he gave his girlfriend and feels that it's important to him!
damnfourthemerald: (somewhere in chaos we all find ourselves)

[personal profile] damnfourthemerald 2017-02-19 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
That-- [isn't a terribad idea?? just. impractical.] might have more merit if we actually had anything with us to remind ourselves.
ratherdoweddings: (when the going gets rough)

[personal profile] ratherdoweddings 2017-02-19 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true, and we don't even know what it is we forgot.

Not even a shred of clothing to our names. [Which isn't a super big deal to Shadow, except he's also pretty sure he should be dead by now without his rings, and running around at the speed of bleh would be easier with his rocket fucking shoes okay.]

So maybe another method. Writing down what we do remember, for instance. I suppose if someone wanted to try head trauma, but that might give more amnesia. It's likely, however, that this is something else controlled by the Overseers. They can already alter our bodies, our abilities. With their technology, they might have put an implant in our heads to manipulate our memories. [And even if his memories aren't real...well. Been there, done that.]

I did wake up with a nanomachine implant I don't remember, so it can't be too much of a stretch to think they did something similar. But how would that work?

We don't know what all their PIPs are capable of doing. If there's something inside us, they could have access. Don't spread that around; it won't do any good to get people worried about something we can't even check.
ratherdoweddings: (if you're determined enough)

You can count on me! That's too serious to throw out without finding proof. We'll just have to find it!
