Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.

Enjoy your week, Champions.]

They probably store the real food elsewhere and transport it in for meals. I suppose it reduces the chance of accidental destruction if someone unskilled attempts to cook.

[Oh - Jane hasn't talked to this man yet. Well, better late than never, right? She looks over, a bit skeptical.]

But that seems so very complicated. If you're going to have a kitchen to use for cooking, you should keep your materials in reach, not hidden who knows where.
misplacedxsheath: (Who thought that was a good idea?)

You assume the kitchen is meant for us to actually use. More likely, it's to taunt us with what we don't have. The goal here is, after all, to incite us to kill for the sake of escape.
cyan_maid: (Now you're just being an ass!)

[She shakes her head and frowns.] They would've been better off using the space for something else. I mean, sure, this is annoying, but who would legitimately kill over not having a kitchen?

[She's frustrated but not THAT frustrated]

Hmph, you'd be surprised what some people are willing to kill for. But I doubt they expect any one thing to drive us to kill. Rather, a number of smaller factors that, combined, make the prospect of spending the rest of our lives here seem unbearable. They're counting on us either accepting that the only way out is through their conditions, or growing impatient and taking the quickest possible route of escape.

[Small things building up to bigger things...]

And then I suppose their incentives are meant to push those of us on the edge right over, yes?
