Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.

It's certainly worth a try. You think this is something Mister Xander would like? He's...well, there is a type to people who play these sorts of things, and I'd never think of him as that type.

[But if we're going to ignore nerd stereotypes, why not get everyone involved? They'll all be bored, and sure, Thomasin can't read but that doesn't mean she can't get a little help to play, too. Jane will save that thought for later, though.]

He's a fellow soldier, which means he'd be the type to like strategy games.

[Not that she can judge. Even though she's never played a tabletop game, Jane won't hesitate to admit that she's definitely a nerd.]

And you're thinking of playing, too, right?

Then it should be fun! I do believe we're supposed to have a bunch of dice with unusually high amounts of sides to them...I wonder where those are kept...

[Is Jane actually getting up to look around for D20's? You bet she is.]

That sounds like a unique die.

[Light may as well get up and help with that. Dice should be easy to find?]

[Chitanda ending, the space station crashes in the midst of the riot and everyone dies but at least they get revenge for what happened]

I think that's the point, but I'm not sure why it's the point.

[Hmmmm could it be on these shelves? In these cabinets? Come on out, D20s...]

If it's for those stats on the paper, it would make more sense.

[In one of these little bags that have several different dice in them? Opening it does indeed reveal some.]

Hm? [She'll come over, looking into the bag...] Ah - yes, that's it. I think we need a few sets if a group of us will be playing...so they're all kept in little bags?

[She reaches over to take one and open it up. Ooh, this is a pretty set...would anyone knock her for taking it for herself, just to get used to them?]

[Not at all. Light will nab these ones herself.]

There's plenty here for everyone.

That gives us the option for quite a large game, if everyone wants to play. Either that, or we could get creative and use a LOT more dice than we need to.

I'd think more dice would be better for things like mages. [She may have peeked into the book at some point. Ssssshhhh]

Oh, is that what it'd be for? I suppose I should look a little closer at everything in there.

There's some interesting classes in that book. There'd be something for everyone in there.

You think so? Hm...I was just looking at the races, but I don't know what class I would pick. It should be something that works well with the race, right? Or else you'd just look silly, like, if you had a big bulky sort of fellow be a flimsy wizard.

I wouldn't think it'd be silly at all. If he's a good wizard, he's a good wizard. [Don't judge people based on their looks.]

The book seems very insistent on making sure who you are matches your roll.

[Tell that to the D&D people]

I don't care what the book says. Not everyone fits into some cookie cutter mold just for a certain class.

Mm...that is true. I suppose they're just loose guidelines, anyway. It will be more fun to make things up on our own.

[Now she's very curious about what Chitanda and Xander would choose.]

I'll have to look into this more before I even decide what race to go with let alone class.

... Would it be more realistic to base the characters in some way off of ourselves?

I don't see why we can't. There's nothing saying that's against the rules.

....... what do you imagine Xander would make his character like? I can see Chitanda as a Cleric.

I don't know - something knightly, for sure. He's a prince, so he carries himself with that kind of attitude already.
