week 1
[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.
On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]

[ She fiddles with the envelope in her hands as she turns to look at poor Jane; the situation right now is a little tense, and she knows it, but, she can't bring herself to try and smile to diffuse it. She doesn't want to be disingenuous...
At the same time, though, she's not the only one going through this. And, on top of that, her regret certainly isn't something she would kill for. She can make it through this. It just...hurts a little bit, to have your pain dragged out into the light. ]
I'm...okay, yes. I already know what's inside this envelope, so I don't have to read it. I'm just...well, you can read it if you'd like. I trust you, and it's not exactly a terrible secret or anything like that. ...It's just, it's not right of them, to do this to everyone and hold it over their heads like this...
[ She offers her the sealed envelope; if Jane so chooses, she can open it. Chitanda certainly wouldn't mind. ]
It's about my uncle. The one I mentioned the other day.

I just...I can't just not think about it, Crocker-san! Right now, they're trying to use people's regrets to make them do terrible things! That's...it just makes me...
[ Chitanda Eru doesn't like to get angry. It tires her out, and furthermore, when she gets mad, she can't think straight. But this whole situation just has her feeling such a whirlwind of emotions; that these Overseers would do this, that they would hold her uncle against her like this, that they would hold everyone's weaknesses against them like this... ]
Crocker-san, they are nasty! They're...they're the nastiest! And I won't stand for it!
[ And all she can think of is an image that's been burned into her mind; her uncle's legacy, a cornered rabbit, retaliating against the wolf--
She rips open her envelope. ]
Chitanda Eru regrets not being able to say goodbye to her uncle, Sekitani Jun, who went missing in India seven years ago. That's what it says here. He'll be declared legally dead in the fall. But, I...I know his story, now. When the time comes, I'll be able to able to say goodbye, in my own way. And I won't let them use his name like this!

[She had meant it in a way that Chitanda wouldn't let this get to her. It's a despicable motive, yes, but they couldn't let it dishearten them so soon. She should have been clearer about that.
Her heart aches when Chitanda ends up revealing her regret. It's an actual regret, not something stupid like hers. That's...that's not right. That's not fair, and there's a flash of anger in Jane, though she keeps it reigned inside. Had her life really been so carefree that only the lack of face-to-face interaction with her only friends been her only regret?]
...N-No, you're right. They shouldn't do this - they shouldn't be doing any of this. They're deplorable, Chitanda - this is why we can't let these things consume us, because while what's done is done we have to be strong, and...find our own way to fight back.
[How bad were the others' regrets? How painful? How much were they not saying?]

[ And she can't be alone, in wanting to do everything she can to stick it to these guys...if there's any bloodshed, it's on their hands, now. That's what Chitanda thinks. ]
Crocker-san, I...I'm going to complain to them! I know it may not do much, but, I'm going to make sure they know how messed up this is! How we'll find a way to stop them, and make sure this doesn't happen again! We'll...we'll find something, and figure this out without any murders, if we all can stand together in this and not give in to what they want...
[ Just like her uncle did, when he stood in protest. But she won't let any of them be thrown to the wolves the way he was. That feeling he had back then, of being both alive and dead men walking all at once; she won't let any of them feel that way, for even a second. She silently vows it. ]
...Remind me, Crocker-san, to tell you about Hyouka, okay?
you're making me want to see Chitanda's canon OTL
Oh, Chitanda. Well, if Bolton and Jaime had office hours for a reason, complaining would be one of them. She nods at the girl's resolution.]
I'll complain, too - and ask questions, and be a complete thorn in their side while I do it. Even if they don't budge with a scrap of information, that's got to be something.
[Remind her...hm.] Hyouka? Sure...yes, I'll ask later.
Hyouka is an outstanding show and I recommend it wholeheartedly
It should be Jamie's office hours now, so, I'm going to make sure he's thoroughly annoyed that entire time! He won't hear the end of it!
[ And, with that, she storms right off... ]
it's on my list now
[She would go on, but there goes Chitanda...well, you...have fun with that, dear. Don't forget to come out for dinner.]
