[For the first time in several weeks there is no new memorial in the garden. No new body in the morgue, no bloody mess for the roombas to clean. Choromatsu is still in need of time to heal and constant vigilance but he's alive. They're all alive for once on a Sunday and, even with the terrible realizations their returning memories may bring, there's a sense of hope for the first time in a long time.

There is no new floor this week.

[WhaAH ow ow ow. He keeps his arm still, thank God, but it's a near thing. He squeezes his eyes shut for a second, then takes Yuuri's offer and focuses on her, on the color of her eyes.]

[ She leans in a little and carefully strokes some of his hair back from his forehead with her free hand. See? It's fiiiine. ]

Well... there's Kurumi, first of all. I think you'd like her the most. She's very brave, very headstrong and she's just like you. Always getting herself into trouble but she knows exactly how to get herself out of it. I don't know what we'd do without Kurumi keeping us safe all the time.

Oh-- and she carries a shovel. Did I ever tell you about the shovel?

For protection. She took it out of the gardening club's shed on the roof the during the first few weeks we were up there. We needed something to keep ourselves safe with when we were taking back the classrooms and the halls.

But, um-- at this point, I think it's almost like a habit. Sometimes she'll even forget she's carrying it and we'll have to remind her. She goes so red. Yuki-chan even asked her if she was thinking of marrying it at one point and, well. She didn't exactly say no.

Kurumi says it's something about making it part of her body so she can really master it... but I don't have to tell you that sounds like an excuse.
