[Just like the previous week the status quo is restored with frighteningly quick efficiency. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets. Even the glass roses Choromatsu and Takumi broke after the trial in their fit of anger have been replaced with fresh ones. All signs that there was anything amiss this weekend are completely gone.

There's a new floor to explore, their "reward" for a job well done.]

Pffffft no. She was, [She picks up her glass to drink down her next shot but hesitates.] I mean, she could be terrifying if you pissed her off but she was ambitious and smart and could kick ass three ways from Sunday. [Down goes the shot.] I think she was a mercenary back in her maiden days before I was born? That's what Dad told me.

...She sounds like a great woman. [more chinhands?? yes] Reminds me of my girlfriend. Ex. My whatever we are. Some of us guys just have a type, apparently.

She was amazing. One time I got bullied by this kid and she punched their parent right in the gills. Never had a problem with them again. [Give her a second to get starry-eyed over her cool mom and pour them both another drink.] But she never liked living in such a backwater part of the galaxy and she disappeared when I was still young. After that it was just me and Dad. [sip] 'M glad I can still remember her though.

Was she gorgeous? Was she stunning? Did you get her good looks or is this mostly just hardlight?

Dad always said of all the stars he's ever seen she always shined the brightest. [She smiles over the top of her glass.] She was gorgeous by most species standards and I absolutely take after her in the looks department, yeah. [Muttered into her drink.] Maybe if you're lucky you'll get to find out sometime.

Yyyyyyeah? That so? I like to think I've been pretty lucky so far. [Don't let him waggle his god damn eyebrows. God damn it, Church. He'll drink his drink, yep, but he's a little more serious when he sets the glass back down.]

You're not mad at her or anything, though?

[No one ever said Cece Diver had taste and because of that she snorts liqueur. Cece, why?] Cobalt is a lucky color where I'm from.

...I was, for a long time once upon a time. I was mad she was gone, that she just vanished out of nowhere one day without a word. She didn't even say goodbye. [She rolls her glass between her hands, staring down at it with a look of distant contemplation.] But now? [A small shrug.] I just wonder if she'd be proud of me.

I don't have my armor on me right now, but it's definitely my color. Luck be a lady tonight.

[He taps his fingers on the bartop, listening, thinking.] Guess she wasn't big on goodbyes. But look at you--surviving a robot uprising in a mcmurder mansion. Singing songs, looking fine, bossing around Kip, keeping people together--keeping yourself together? What's not to be proud of.

[She has time to shoot him a wink before things get contemplative again.

Cece runs her index finger around the rim of her glass, a soft smile creeping into the corners of her mouth.] I am kind of awesome, aren't I? [After a beat she reaches over with her free hand and lays it over Church's, giving it an affectionate squeeze.] And you know what? You're pretty okay, Leonard Church.

[Everyone knows that Full Name Usage means a lot!] What, only pretty okay? Not like a quarter awesome, or halfway to awesome? [He turns his hand over in hers to return the squeeze.]

[She laughs, idly tracing small circles on his wirst with her thumb.] Hmmm, I think I can get away with bumping you up to three-quarters to awesome.

I'll take it. It's more awesome than some of my friends back home would give me. And I am pretty awesome. And pretty lucky. And so are you.

I mean, the whole being here with an insane computer dude, that's not lucky, but I mean otherwise...

If it weren't for the whole "evil AI taking over the show and my bosses maybe being in on it and Death Around Every Corner", I'd feel a whole lot luckier. But all things considered...
