[Just like the previous week the status quo is restored with frighteningly quick efficiency. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets. Even the glass roses Choromatsu and Takumi broke after the trial in their fit of anger have been replaced with fresh ones. All signs that there was anything amiss this weekend are completely gone.

There's a new floor to explore, their "reward" for a job well done.]

I've never been magic warping King Arthur before. Time to see how the other half lives.

Let's see... [Ardyn picked up the plastic knife from Junpei's pile of junk, lightly tossing it to himself to test its weight.] ...Not ideal, but this should work. [Looking more interested and generally normal than he ever had in the mansion, Ardyn started explaining with a sharp smirk that clearly meant trouble.]

Something like this won't stick in a wall or the floor, so you'll have to try the slightly trickier method. I want you to take this and throw it in a straight line. [He gestured vaguely with the knife as he spoke, actually sounding enthusiastic about what he was teaching.] From the instant it leaves your hand, you need to envision yourself following the path it takes. When it begins to lose momentum or reaches the place you need to be, then you need to think only of your hand around the hilt and focus upon catching it out of the air no matter how far out of reach it is.

[Ardyn flipped the plastic knife around in his hand with the expertise of someone very used to knife-shaped objects, offering the handle to Junpei.]

Give it a try--if you've truly been granted the power of kings, I believe you can do it.

[He feels that despite feeling little else--pride, the will to live up to it, faith he for once doesn't want to shove away. Junpei missed the meeting where Arianna showed off her skills, or else he might comment on it; as it is, he stands a little straighter as he takes the knife, testing the weight of it in his hand like someone less used to knife-shaped objects but with a high bodily-kinesthetic learning score.]

Sounds simple enough.

[It does fucking not, but the way Ardyn's explained it, it's all visual and spatial. If there's anything Junpei knows how to do, it's visualize. He points at one side of the room with the knife, paying attention to the way his hand fits around the hilt, the path he means it to take, how it will spin given its size and weight.

He remembers the feeling of connection, of knowing he could do it, in the belly of Zero's Nonary Game, and

[--and he knows the path and he knows the hilt in his hand and knowing it, suddenly he's there, a spiraling trail of reddish light and smoke in his wake as his fingers close around the grip, and it's so sudden that he yelps and trips and tumbles over his own ass straight into the cushioned wall--and bounces off to the floor. That was spectacular, Junpei-- [Despite the pile of limbs that was now on the floor, Ardyn looked thrilled with the results, yellow eyes practically lighting up ~~he's legitimately so happy no icon fucking exists for it~~]

You did it perfectly, just...faltered a bit afterwards. [Ardyn glanced from Junpei to the lingering trail of light--he'd definitely traveled further than expected for a first attempt.]

[His feelings aren't back--not by a long shot--but he still feels that and recognizes this pale shadow of happiness as what would normally be triumphant glee and he pushes his hair back from his face, laughing a little.]

[He picks himself back up slowly, making sure he didn't bend anything in a way he shouldn't have, but look, he's a-okay.]

How far can you go like that?

Ordinarily? I can warp as far as I can throw whatever I'm holding, as long as there's a clear target and line of sight.

Knives and daggers are the ideal weapons to use for a matter of distance, but if I needed to actually strike what I was warping to I would more than likely use a one-handed blade or a greatsword.
