[Just like the previous week the status quo is restored with frighteningly quick efficiency. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets. Even the glass roses Choromatsu and Takumi broke after the trial in their fit of anger have been replaced with fresh ones. All signs that there was anything amiss this weekend are completely gone.

There's a new floor to explore, their "reward" for a job well done.]

Fine--but I'm not getting on any stage, I make quite enough of a spectacle of myself at home.

[Ardyn laughed under his breath, slouching lazily in the chair he'd taken up with his left arm hanging over the back of it.]

[And then, despite looking more than ever like a haphazardly-dressed disaster that one would believe had slept in a tree in the garden last night, he came out with something hauntingly operatic. As smoothly eloquent as his voice so often was, right now it was every bit the captivating force that one might expect from someone with a country at their command.]

[He offered a small smile a little closer to the sympathetic looks he'd met the others with in the weeks prior, shrugging.]

I'm flattered you think so. I suspect it's been a long time since anyone's heard that song from me.

It was...nice to share it. I think it means something we might all need at this point.

...Mm. I think we all need... A lot of things. A few pretty things definitely count.

It's more than that--that song is older even than I am. It's...something that was shared through Lucis near the end of the war between the gods, telling of tragedy and despair ending in a new day's dawn.

...Hope. For the future.

[ ...Yeah. They definitely need that. ]

...Technically, it's a prayer for the coming of the one to fulfill the prophecy, but I find it far less interesting that way. [A shrug.]

I always thought of it your way--that no matter how dark things may be, sunlight will still return one way or another.

We'll survive. We just have to trust each other. That moment we let fear overtake us... We'll fall apart.

...Right. We just...have to remember to rely on each other, with whatever might happen.
