[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

Um, just a stew. But it needs to simmer a few hours. N-normally it would be in a pot over the fire...

[ WHAT IS ALL OF THIS STUFF IT MAKES NO SENSE IS IT MAGIC? ]

Oh, okay. Here.

[He moves the pot onto the stove, fiddles with the dial, and--ta-dah! Let there be flame. Junpei adjusts the gas until it's at low heat.]

You just said simmer, right? That should do it.

[ She seems utterly fascinated. It must be magic. Real, honest-to-gods magic. ]

...Th-Thank you! That should be fine...!

[It hits him kind of belatedly.]

You, uh... You've never seen a gas range before, have you.

Gas... Range...?

[ ...Junpei she's still wearing the medieval dress, although the sleeves have been tied back a bit. ]

[Look, he's been living in America. He knows about the Renaissance Festival.]

Okay. Uh... How about a stove?

We have a stove. It's... Nothing like this one. Where's the firewood...?

[ ...Yeah. Really old stove. ]

[Man, she's rustic.]

It doesn't use firewood. Instead, it burns natural gas... Tell me how much I have to back up, here.

...Gas...?

[ The best they have is oil, and that's for lamps if you're richer than she is. She just has candles. ]

Man. You're really from the country, aren't you. [He puts a hand to his chin, then waves it in the air. To indicate the, uh. Air.] Like air. It's a type of air that catches fire easily, so people pipe it into their homes, and, sha-zam.

[He gestures to the stove.]

Cooking.

I-I know how to cook, but... I-It's all with wood... Some people h-have oil lamps but... Th-That's for the rich.

[...Maintaining an aloof front in front of such sincere hardship is difficult for someone like Junpei. He can feel his resolve to stay cool waver.]

Well, hopefully, this'll make cooking easier for you instead of harder.

[He points a thumb to the dials.]

Do you want me to show you how it works? Or, uh, maybe not how it works, but how to use it.

P-Please. Then I c-could cook for everyone.

[ It's not exactly hardship when that stuff hasn't been invented yet Junpei ]

Aw hell yes, food I don't have to make myself.

[He does a mock fist-pump, then moves over to the second burner so he can explain and demonstrate stuff, which he does slowly and with pauses to let her ask questions or try manipulating the dial herself. I'm not typing out the whole process because who actually wants to learn how to use a gas stove through murder RP?]

[ She's a bit slow at it, but she seems a bit slow at learning most things. Still, she seems to get the hang of it after a bit. That's what matters. ]
