week 1
[After the initial introduction of the Overseers on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Jamie and Bolton came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.
On Monday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing "office hours" for Bolton in the library and Jamie in the art room every day from here on out.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
game room!
Chitanda?

[ No luck, yet. The sheets are clean, but, if nothing else, the game itself seems interesting; it's apparently for designing a character to play as, and it has sections for things like abilities, bonds, and statistics like Strength and Wisdom. They're all blank now, but... ]
I was wondering what this game is like, too!

It looks like something close to a roleplaying game back home, except in paper form. I've only ever seen stats like this in video games.
[Not that she plays them herself. They were just popular with young boys and girls, so it was hard not to go to a store with an electronics department and not notice these things.]

It depends. There's a lot of different types. Puzzles, shooters, roleplaying, and a few others. [She shrugs.] I could if I had to, but no, I don't play.
[............ well, it would fight the possible boredom of this place, and she could keep an eye on the smaller girl. For wanting to not get close to people, the situation demands getting to know them now.] Sure. Why not. We might want to invite someone else to play with us.

Puzzle games...those seem like they would be up my alley the most! I mean, I know Tetris, obviously, but that's only because I think pretty much everyone where I'm from knows about that one, but, I'd probably only be good at games like that! I'm not very good with violence, and I don't like stories where characters die, so, I don't think shooting games are for me...
[ But she's happy that Lightning is willing to play! ]
I think Crocker-san would probably enjoy a game like this! She said she likes video games, so, if it's like that, she may enjoy this! And maybe we can ask Prince Xander to play, too...

They might have puzzle books here. This room seems like it would suit a lot of different people.
[Chitanda. Chitanda. How are you getting her to talk so much?]
Jane? You'd have to ask her. As for the prince among us, if there's strategy involved... I'm sure he'd like that.

[ Her self-control when it comes to riddles and such is so low, Lightning, please save her from herself-- ]
Next time I see her, I'll be sure to ask, though! She's very sweet, so I'm sure she won't say no to having a little fun! Actually, most of the people here seem friendly, I'm almost a little surprised!
[ There are some who seem a little...on-edge, but, she can't really blame them, in this situation. ]

Right. I'll hide them from you then.
[Hmmm...]
I'll ask Xander then when I see him.

[ Wink wink, nudge nudge... ]

[Sorry to shut you down like that.]

[ Chitanda, you only met today... ]

I have people I want to protect. That doesn't mean they are my friends. You can protect someone without ever putting that name to the relationship.
no subject
Well, there's nothing wrong with calling someone a friend, though! Is there a reason you don't want to consider people friends with you? I mean, it's not like I would mind, if you did want to...
[ Far from it, actually. ]

I have my sister to take care of. [To save from the fate of becoming one of those turned into a monster l'Cie.] And as a soldier, it's my duty to protect those who can't protect themselves. There's no time for friendship. Even here. There's people to protect from these men and their plans for us.
no subject
[ She's glad for Lightning's intentions, but... ]
I know you're looking out for us, but I'm sure quite a few of us want to look out for you, as well, Lightning-san. Not to say that you can't take care of yourself, of course, but...well, can't we support each other?
no subject
She's not sure how to respond to this. So Light turns her full attention to the piece of paper in front of her. Chitanda would have a high Charisma, wouldn't she.]
no subject
[ That seems to be the bottom line, here. ]
Even if we aren't friend friends, we should at least stick together!
no subject
I should go see if anyone else needs help with anything.

Right. Keep yourself safe.
