[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.

No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.

All you know is... something has to change soon.]

[She doesn't know how to explain it. She doesn't need to do things for people to be friends with them. She just has to be herself.]

But that's how you make friends, right? I. I stopped trying a long time ago. So why is it happening now? [That last word...] Perfect? Hardly. You're way better and more prefect than I ever even have a thousandth of a chance of being.

[Nari starts protesting everything good about her and Queenie can't stand it. Nari is her friend and one of the best people she's ever met she can't stand listening to her think so little of herself. She gets tugged back into a tight hug, though neither of them have really stepped back from the embrace.

For a moment she just holds her, trying to convey just how much she cares about the other woman, how much she looks up to her for being so strong and caring and fun and practical and-

She shifts just enough to lay a hand against Nari's cheek and turn her head, brushing a light kiss to her lips and looking like she's going to cry all over again.]

Maybe the rest of us ain't as smart or strong as you, Nari, but don'cha ever think you're alone here.

[The girl has never had much self-worth. Both Nishitani and Roland have heard her talk like this, and even their reassurances aren't enough to, well, reassure Nari.

Queenie being affectionate with someone so disgusted with themselves was weird. Nari will return the hug, but the kiss? It throws her off enough that she stares at Queenie after. ]

........ You're a really strange American. [Random, but something she noticed.] ... I know. It's kinda scary.

Maybe it's just 'cause I'm a witch?

[It's more than that but Queenie doesn't want to admit to being weird even by wizarding standards.]

Being the best is tough huh? [A little nudge, trying to help lighten her spirits a little. Because that's clearly the scary part, being the strongest, smartest, most awesome person in the room... not having people that will support her.]

No... I think it's cause you're so old school and it's before the whole "can't kiss someone you're not dating" thing came around full force. Why can't people be more like Europeans when it comes to displays of affection?

[Having someone think so highly of Nari is... difficult. She shrugs at the comment, trying for a small joke of her own.] It's supposed to be lonely up top, right?

[There is some of that where and when she's from but she just chooses to ignore it. She cares about Nari too much and wants her to feel better, social norms be damned.]
