Week 2
[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.
No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.
All you know is... something has to change soon.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 1 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

Ya think so? [And she offers a smile but it's dim compared to her usual exuberance.]
Mmm, plannin out my next sewing project usually helps keep my mind off... [The war, the danger her sister is in every day, how many people are hurting and she can't do a damned thing about it, bills, the horrible things some people have seen, Grindelwald.] ... things.

These're real cute, even a guy like me can tell.
[ He nods. Distractions... yeah, people love those. They're why bars and cabarets exist in the first place. ]
Ya sew yer own dresses back home? That takes some serious skill!
no subject
I've been making clothes for me and my sister since I started school. We- [She just kinda shrugs dismissively.] didn't have a lot growing up so making things was a lot cheaper.
no subject
Ah, I know what that's like. Might not look it, but I didn't start with much neither. Only got what I got 'cause I kicked more ass than anyone else.
[ Well, and he got pseudo-adopted by a cop, so that helped a lot. ]
Ya got a real eye for it, though. Betcha the other girls were all jealous of ya both fer lookin' so sharp.

[The compliment does seem to cheer her up, though and she leans into him a little to show her gratitude. It was hard to be upset when she had his arms around her. He was just... really good at making her feel safe.]
I had plenty of girls asking me to make them cute dresses for the weekends. We had uniforms for school, usually, though.

[ Family... what a weird concept. Nishitani pulls her up close, definitely not keeping those thoughts PG-13 but hey, he hasn't gone for a grope... yet. It's getting harder to resist with her being so nice to him, though. ]
Don't surprise me. Japan's real big on uniforms, too. Nights an' weekends are the only times ya get ta shine.
no subject
[She doesn't always mean to be but she's good at testing the limits of men's patience.]
Mmm? That why you work nights? [Teasing and maybe a little bit coy. Flirting makes her feel better almost as much as making other people feel better.]
no subject
Sounds like ya both musta taken care of each other. That's good, havin' somebody there for ya.
[ Even a crazy dude like him has family. ]
Ya might say that, doll. [ He smirks, glancing her up and down. This outfit doesn't leave much to the imagination besides the sweater... ] Makes my job a helluva lot less boring, gettin' ta see people loosen their collars a bit.
no subject
A nod, that's exactly what happened with her and Tina and then he's eyeing her and she lifts a brow that says "I know exactly what you're thinking" but she doesn't call him on it, just lets him look.]
Yeah, I bet. 's part of the fun. You work at a club or something? I know in America most of the mobsters run speakeasies and oh gosh are those fun.
no subject
You got it, sweetheart. I own a couple of clubs, hostess bars, mahjong parlors, that kinda thing. It ain't all weapons deals, that shit's not as fun as the other stuff.
no subject
[People act like she's talking another language when she's going on about magic but half the stuff all these Japanese guys are talking about makes her so confused.]
And hostess bars? There's something there I'm missing... pretty sure.
no subject
[ What a colassal shame, mahjong is way more fun than poker. ]
Yeah, see. Back home, the girls who work the clubs are called hostesses. At a cabaret, they'll sit down and talk to ya and sell ya booze so overpriced it basically covers their whole damn paycheck. So a hostess bar or a cabaret club is basically that, minus the act on stage. Just lonely fuckin' salarymen willin' ta pay top dollar ta chat up a girl before they gotta go home to their wives. 's real lucrative.
no subject
[Maybe they'll get a set and he can teach her.]
So these hostesses get paid for flirting with fellas and bringing 'em drinks? That... sounds like a real nice deal.
no subject
It sure is, darlin'! They get paid real nice, it ain't a bad deal at all. Worst case, ya get sleazy customers, but that shit's what managers and bouncers are for.
no subject
[Wistful sigh because this sounds like her dream job.]
Gosh, why don't we have em in America?
no subject
[ There's a reason he likes her so much... ]
Good question, huh? Dunno.. But you'd make a killin' as a hostess, Queenie-chan!

no subject
[ He smirks. ]
Any club'd be lucky ta have ya, that's for sure.
no subject
[Nudge nudge.]
Maybe one of yers though, huh?
no subject
[ He leans up to her, still smirking. ]
Wouldn't hafta work. Ya can come 'round any time, I'd show ya good time.
