Week 2
[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.
No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.
All you know is... something has to change soon.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 1 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

[She at least knew enough about the meal to know that eggs were probably going to be necessary. As such, she made for the fridge and plucked a carton of them out.]
It's... my second time. I tried to make cookies yesterday. A few times, actually. It didn't go so well.

Baking's harder so why don't we stick to the stovetop? [Partially because even she isn't 100% on the oven. She has a spell for that normally.]
Hmmm scrambled eggs is about as easy as it gets but we could do a few scrambled, and then fried and I can show you how ta get em just the way you like.
no subject
Where do we start for scrambling eggs, then?
no subject
Oh dear...]
When you're cracking 'em you wanna be kinda gentle? otherwise you're going to end up with a bunch of shells in your eggs. I... I usually do this with magic so I'm not real good at it, either. If that helps.
[But she taps an egg against the edge of the bowl and once the fracture in the shell is sufficient she uses her thumbs to pry the pieces cleanly apart.]
Like that! You try one~
no subject
You... seem quite good at it. [Considering the fact that she watched Rhys drop an entire egg into the bowl, and had to peel countless egg shells out of her own attempts.
In...cluding this one. Though it certainly went better than her last attempt, there were still a handful of shells in the goop.]
no subject
Oh! No no no. [She shook her head, clasping her hands together on the counter as though that would help somehow and the whisk dropped to the counter top.]
Sorry, honey. It's just... ingrained habit. You did just fine though. Try tapping it a little lighter? you just want a fracture enough that you can get a thumb nail in and pry it apart. Once it starts it's not hard to get it to go all around.
no subject
That is... incredible. Is it part of you being a witch, then? [She spoke softly, so as not to reveal this secret to anyone who might have passed by. She was certain who Queenie might have told at this point.]
Should I try again, then? How many eggs do we need?
no subject
Go on. We can make as many eggs as we want, someone'll eat 'em.

With a nod, Angel took two more eggs into her hand. One was set by the bowl, while the other was tapped against the side of the bowl, just as she had been instructed. While her first attempt of the batch resulted in an eggshell or two landing in the mixture, the second seemed devoid of any. This fact was pointed out to the Queenie with nothing short of sheer delight.]
I did it! Do you see that, Queenie? I did it!
no subject
When the second egg is a success Queenie is already grinning and Angel's joy over such a little thing just makes her laugh, bright and infectious. She lides her arm around Angel's waist, hugging her kind of sideways so they're both still facing the counter but Queenie pulls the other girl in close.]
That's really good, sweetie! Heck I've been trying ta get my sister ta do that for years now and she still ain't managed it.
no subject
I... could not have done it, if not for you.
no subject
[Which get Angel another squeeze before Queenie releases her.]
Alright 2 more and then we'll actually start scrambling 'em yeah?
no subject
[Turning back to the task at hand, Angel plucked up the last two eggs. The first was just as much of a success as the one previous, while the second resulted in another small piece of shell.
After fishing out the remnants, Angel turned her attention to the whisk that Queenie's magic had snatched up, she took it into her hands and held it over the eggy goop.]
This next, right?
no subject
[ And while Angel is doing that part she's going to be collecting milk, salt, pepper, and maybe some paprika. Once everything's set up on the counter she just watches Angel work for a long moment.]
You'll want to add a little bit of everything I... don't actually use measurements so it's hard to say exactly. Mostly it's "to taste".
Which doesn't help much does it?
no subject
Queenie's mention of spices was a bit of a welcome distraction from her own failings.]
It... doesn't [A smile crossed her lips.] But I can still try, at least!
no subject
Queenie stands behind Angel, reaching around her to settle her hand over Angel's, adjusting her grip on the whisk, and guiding her hand through the motion. SLow at first but then urging her to go a little faster and probably splattering a little bit of egg out of the bowl.]
There ya go, gotta have a little umph in it.
no subject
As the egg splattered out of the bowl, Angel found herself laughing. This whole thing was silly, not to mention a welcome lesson from a kind woman.]
Some umph, okay.
