[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.

No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.

Things suck where I come from, dude, what with galactic war and all that good stuff, but man, for a little while there it was...kind of peaceful. Stupid but peaceful. Now all this plot stupid shit starts happening, and it all rolls downhill from there. I really shouldn't leave those dumbasses alone for long or by the time I get back there won't even be a Blood Gulch, just a...like a...a smoking crater or something.

It'd be an improvement, though, probably.

I don't have a kingdom to run. Just a small unit in a small base in the middle of god's almighty fucking nowhere.

I'm sure the scale makes things no less difficult, from the sound of it. You hardly need to phrase it as though it's a matter of competition.

I just kinda thought I'd be somewhere closer to the front lines. Not that I wanna romanticize war or anything, fuck no, I wanna live. [Too late for that...?] But you kinda wanna feel like you're doing something. See the change you're making.

I think I understand exactly what you mean. Not that we're at war at the moment, strictly speaking. But there are few things I enjoy more than to see the details to the larger picture; less 'save the world' and more 'save this person directly in front of me'. The gratitude and relief I see in the formerly afflicted is something I never tire of.

But I also believe that every part of such an effort is vital; whether it should be those on the front lines or even the smallest battalion in the smallest of outposts. I've no doubt your efforts are worthwhile, even if they should seem otherwise or even prove endlessly frustrating with little reward.

I can give a speech now and then, but I dunno that they're actually any good. Finding the right words is...hard, sometimes. Better to be blunt. [like socks on the door] But I can order people around no problem.

I find people are more likely to listen to one's orders if they're given reason to like the one issuing them. Not to say that it's empty platitudes; what I just told you was entirely honest. It would be quite a miserable ruler that couldn't relate to his people somehow.

When you're military, you don't exactly get a choice in who you're around. Sometimes you just can't relate, and all you can do is yell until someone too stupid to get the picture gets the fucking picture. I know it may seem like it, [church whatever you're about to say don't] but I don't actually have the patience of a saint.

We're technically all still privates, so they technically don't have to follow my leadership. Glad they do, though. Could you imagine the chaos and rioting if we all decided to just do our own thing?
