[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.

No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.

[ Angel glanced between her pan and Rhys, a scowl drifting over her lips. No, things definitely weren't going well with the oven. But that wasn't exactly his fault.]

Apparently baking takes a bit more finesse than I thought.

[ It's... probably better than what he could manage, honestly. ]

I mean, it's your first time baking, right? Sooo... Pretty good start! I-I think, anyway.

[Angel grabbed the pan once more and shifted toward the trash, depositing it before setting to scrubbing the pan off in the sink.]

Hey, it could've been... you know, chunks of charcoal. Anyway, that's what practice is for.

[ He offers her a confident smile. ]

And we've got lots of ingredients, so you can pretty much use as much as you want.

That's true. [And while her back is turned, she's going to let out a boisterous laugh. What a sight that might have been.]

[ He blinks, but nods. How hard can it be, with the two of them? ]

Gotta warn you, I've... never done any baking, but I bet we could figure it out.

Alright, Rhys. You are now my fearsome, bake-happy minion! [She turned to the man, the smile on her lips brighter than it had been in ages.]

We are going to attempt cookies again. The ingredients should still be on the counter, same with the recipe.

[ And because Rhys is a Cool Guy, he makes a big show of bowing dramatically, sweeping his hand through the air to rest against his chest. ]

I'm at your service, Madame Angel. [ why this ] Got it. So... yeah. Baking. Cool.

[ He goes over to the counter and looks at the recipe. It... doesn't look too difficult? He gets a clean bowl, first. Then Rhys starts in, and he does pretty well! Until he gets to the eggs. He cracks one...

And then drops it into a bowl, with the batter. Egg shells, everywhere. ]

... Damnit.

[She's certainly found herself a worthwhile helper. Really, though, it should have been the other way around, Angel taking orders from Rhys. Still, he seemed to jump into action quick enough, without so any sort of instruction. That would bode well for them, ri-]

[The clatter and muttering of the man beside her quickly drew her from her thoughts. She moved to his side and peered into the mess left in the bowl.]

Um. Did I miss a step in my recipe, before? Because I am almost certain there are not supposed to be egg shells in this

[Is she being serious or facetious? We just don't know.]

[ Oh no this is the worst. Rhys stares at the batter and egg shells. ]

That's, uh... [ think quick you dummy ] Myyyyyyy... secret ingredient. Yep. And now you know, because-- because it would've been pretty shellfish of me to keep it a secret.

[Help her. She had to hold a hand to her mouth to keep from outright guffawing. It did nothing to stop the way her body shook with her restrained mirth.]

T-that's... [A snort.] an eggcellent joke, Rhys.

[That one took her a minute but boy howdy is she now in the middle of a fit of laughter.]

[ He decides he really likes hearing Angel laugh. ]

Hey, you're welcome. Honestly, I'm... I'm having a lot of fun. Probably the most fun I've had here.

Heh... I'm glad I met you, too. But it's... not all bad. No one's forcing us to do weird stuff, at least!
