Week 5

Week 5

[It's been five weeks (since you looked at me) and with the deaths of Shadow and Rukia, the group that was initially 20 strong has dwindled down to ten. Ten people in the span of a month and, even with the Overseers seeming increase in empathy for the remaining Champions, there is no end in sight for the Champion Excellence Program.

And again at 7 am on Sunday the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call there is no new floor announcement this week.

And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday

[ooc: welcome to week 5, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

[If Fukawa were here Xander probably wouldn't have survived week one.]

You're truly a paragon of empathy and inspiration, Byakuya Togami.

[That's a surprising amount of self-awareness about the way he's been acting, though.]

The people in your world, the ones who ran these other killing games, what was the point of it, did you ever find out? There's always some kind of manifesto, or ranting about how mum and dad didn't love them enough, or appearing on a giant screen or something.

We did find out. The mastermind loved making villainous speeches. She was insufferable.

The one in the school was to broadcast our deaths to the whole world and let them see how "the hope of the world" killed each other, or something like that.

It seems the killing game in the virtual world we're trying to stop right now was her again, this time trying to download an AI copy of herself into the fifteen people's bodies to kickstart a plan to fill the world with duplicates of herself.

[At least Togami has the comfort of knowing freaking Junko Enoshima isn't the mastermind of this mutual killing game]

[A deep sigh.]

Yeah, that sounds about right. Your emotions an' attachments are a weakness, give in to despair and just incidentally worship the ground I walk on as your new supreme overlord, et cetera et cetera.
