Week 5

[It's been five weeks (since you looked at me) and with the deaths of Shadow and Rukia, the group that was initially 20 strong has dwindled down to ten. Ten people in the span of a month and, even with the Overseers seeming increase in empathy for the remaining Champions, there is no end in sight for the Champion Excellence Program.

And again at 7 am on Sunday the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call there is no new floor announcement this week.

And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

[Probably three seats to the side in the second row. If it's alcohol, she doesn't want it, but she'll certainly take note of it.]

[He is a responsible adult not in the business of offering minors alcohol, excuse you. That's the Benefactors' job.

But it is alcohol. Two bottles of white wine and three glasses, two of which are empty and sitting on the floor.]

[...Three glasses?]

Golly, Mister Jamie, you must've been expecting company already!

[If they're still making up from their tiff, then it'd be Bolton and...one of their own?

There's a quiet, sinking feeling in her stomach.]

Not really. [Siiiiiip.] I thought B might show up but I guess not.

[...There's three glasses, she's not giving up too easily.]

I suppose he's not one for nice movies. But, Mister Jame, you've got an extra glass with you.

[theoverseers]

"Ferris Bueller" and "The Breakfast Club" are more up his alley. [He starts to take another sip from his glass but pauses, glancing at the extra glass. He chews the inside of his cheek for a moment before answering.]

Spare glass. I've knocked over a lot of glasses in my time so I learned to keep an extra around.

[Oh, that's a pause, isn't it? At least he came up with something plausible.]

Well, do take care not to drink all that wine yourself, alright? I've...erm, known how devastating an incredibly large hangover can be.

[Hangover + hallucinogenic drug trip crash = YIKES]

Ohhh trust me, I've had some crazy hangovers in my time. Not quite as crazy as yours but I know how to pace myself. [He smiles.] Help yourself to some popcorn.

Rest assured that I don't want to repeat the experience.

[Ooooh where is that shit, she'll have some and probably stop talking through the movie for everyone else's sake, unless there's anything else noticeable about those wine glasses?]

[Nope, nothing really of note especially now that Xander has nabbed one for himself.

[Drink responsibly, Xandad.

She'll just be humming softly to the songs, then. If Jamie wants to conduct a sing-along, it wouldn't take much to have her join in.]

[He's not that much of an embarrassment to start a sing-along in a mixed group like this but she'll probably catch him singing along to Belle under his breath in between glancing down between his PIP and watching the movie.]

[Ha, that's cute.

Casually glancing at his PIP while he's glancing. Whatcha lookin' at there buddy?]

[It's hard to see with the way his PIP is angled but it looks like he's switching between a written message and a photo.]

It's my favorite part because you'll see...

[SQUINTING.........and leaning just a bit closer, softening her humming so it doesn't sound like she's creeping up on him. Do we see anything?]

[theoverseers]

[The message isn't readable from her angle but when he switches back to the picture she gets a pretty clear view of a very young baby with a whole lot of thick black hair.]

[....Oh how cute...but...

Is that baby in any way recognizable?]

[theoverseers]

[Not really. All babies kind of look the same at this age but there's a soft-looking baby blue blanket peeking in from the corner of the picture with the initials J.J. embroidered into the material.]

[...THAT'S CUTE. Alright, Jane will sit back and let Jamie look at a picture of...what, a sibling, or a cousin? A nibling? She's going to imagine it's a nibling.

But even that meant Bolton and Jamie had left behind a lot to be here. Jane lets out a hard breath, looking at the movie but not really seeing it.]

[theoverseers]

[That's enough to trigger his attention. Jamie quickly clicks his PIP into sleep mode, turning to check on her.]

Everything okay?

[Well dang, good thing he didn't notice when she was creeping on him.]

Huh? Oh - ah, no, it's nothing. Just...thinking about the movie. And...boys.

[She has enough love troubles that are definitely on her "files" that that's a feasible excuse, right? Right.]
