Week 4

[Four weeks in and almost half the Champions' original numbers are gone. Eight people in the span of a month and, even with the Overseers seeming increase in empathy for the remaining Champions, there is no end in sight for the Champion Excellence Program.

And again at 7 am on Sunday the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call the message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your third trial, you have unlocked the fourth floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the fourth floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

I will admit though, my burst of... manic energy is completely due to these sabotages. I can't really DO much like this.

Mainly. I can't read comfortably, I can barely eat. Let alone anything more complicated. Almost utterly helpless. Sleeping was rather awkward as well.

[Which for an active and strong fellow like himself is a lot to take in. And likely a... lot of the appeal]

Could we break the bar? Or at least bend it? Maybe Lightning could heat it up... Metal bends when it's hot, right?

[Kurumi stop.]

I would rather not lose my wrists. I will suffer it for now- I'm sure it was meant in jest. Just like this swimsuit.

At least the swimsuit isn't hurting anything.

Oh, it is hurting plenty.

[he coughs, turning red. He is not talking further about this]

Apparently it was Lightning's doing- she thought it was a bluff.

...Maybe she should have chose Togami. [Beat--] Actually no. No one wants to see him in a swimsuit.

I certainly don't. He is far from equipped for it.

[...was that a jab at Togami's ass, Xander?!]

No one wants to see a jerk like him naked anyway.

Well, I'm sure someone must. But not here.

Definitely not here. Why couldn't we have given him the gorilla suit?

[He chuckles]

Still, don't be too cruel to him. He's certainly not the most... social. But he is harmless.

Yeah... Yeah, I know. I just don't like him.

Fair enough. He reminds me of my little brother- very young and sure of his own ability with little care for how he comes off.

I don't think he doesn't care. He cares about making the worst impression possible.

[kingshaming]

That's also a way to survive, I suppose. Leo is the same way with people he doesn't trust. Being called a genius from a young age has that kind of effect.

Togami could certainly try to be more agreeable though.

Being wary and being hostile are two different things.

You'd think after all we've done to him in retaliation he'd get the picture.

Some people are just stubborn. I wonder if someone was overtly kind to him, if he would die from shock on the spot?

I'm afraid he'd strangle them out of suspicion.

[kingshaming]

[He gives a bark of laughter, the last of his manic tension fading]

Maybe. Maybe not.

Or have a heart attack. That's more likely. Then we'd have to go on trial for whoever was nice to him.
