week 4
[Four weeks in and almost half the Champions' original numbers are gone. Eight people in the span of a month and, even with the Overseers seeming increase in empathy for the remaining Champions, there is no end in sight for the Champion Excellence Program.
And again at 7 am on Sunday the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call the message tacked on:]
Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your third trial, you have unlocked the fourth floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the fourth floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.
[And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]
[ooc: welcome to week 4, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

The relaxed stance is a bit off-putting, but seeing as how Jane's already seen Lightning be very quick, she waits a moment, bringing her guard up before darting forward. It's more a feint than anything - will Lightning strike, or no?]
no subject
Lightning doesn't move until Jane gets close enough that she moves to guard herself. Let Jane get a hit in like she had done for Xander and gauge how much hit power is behind the strike.
How she wishes she could have fought McBurn and Margulis. She wouldn't feel the slight guilt of hitting them.]

Alright, she won't take the feint - let's try for a hit. Jane brings back her fist for a punch, not extravagantly or openly like someone trying too hard, but there's a surprising amount of strength behind it. Not as much as Lightning's, but still telling of some good potential. If someone wasn't expecting the punch, it'd knock the wind right out of them.]
no subject
She did say she wasn't going easy on you.]

[OW FUCK there goes Jane's own wind. She staggers, gasping for breath, but she doesn't go down. She knows in a real fight there's no room for recovering from pain, which is why she stubbornly keeps on her feet and uses Lightning's grip on her to try and yank her close, only to shove her away with the full force of her body.]

Nah son Jane's throwing herself right the fuck out the way and bracing herself to hit the ground and roll]
no subject
Not really she has more respect for Jane than that. Which includes chasing the younger girl and going for a direct hit.]

She's scrambling like mad so Lightning probably lands a glancing blow? Dang, for a little lady she scampers fast. Jane gets right to her feet, though, and her fist pulls back for an uppercut. Doesn't necessarily mean she'll make contact, but it's an attempt.]

FLY, JANE, FLY]

[She was not expecting this.
Jane is thrown a considerable distance, hits the ground rolling a bit - but it's clear that she's been worn down by the shock and impact. Ugh, ow, she's going to be bruised for a while. Her attempts to get to her feet stop at propping herself up on her arms and breathing hard.]

Let's stop for now. You look ready to pass out.

I guess I don't make for a very good sparring partner, huh?
[She's so much better with a weapon.]
no subject
That's why you practice.
no subject
I do - well, I have. Just not with people.

[What if she punches her in the zombie bite, what if that's bad]
I'll ask if she's interested.
no subject
She might be. She just never took me up on it.
