the beginning of the end
[After everyone has had the chance to pack up their items and get in all those last minute hugs, SISCE is waiting for them by the information desk in her hardlight hologram SIS form. She seems distracted while she picks up a few small things from her desk: a letter, a slightly terrifying stuffed animal and a few other odds and ends. She turns to look at them as her Champions approach, her brows furrowed in concern.]
Hello, everyone. I need to talk to you all about something. Will you come with me to the bathrooms?

She looks at Church, at Fukawa, at Arianna, at Jane and at Xander. Her processors conjure up memories of the other group in her head, both groups of her Champions. Jamie, Bolton, Akira and Penny. The first one who offered a hand in friendship and set her on this path. Would she have evolved so much, gotten so invested if she hadn't? For all her calculations she doesn't know.
And of course there's Yl'lb. The man who created her by accident but taught and loved her like she was his flesh and blood. He loved Wilhemina and wants her back...but hasn't everything he's done proven that he loves CECE just as much? With or without her memories she's his family just like all of these people who've been hurt by the network are hers.
Finally she lifts a hand to lay it over Church's on her shoulder.]
I...I do not want to forget my family again, Church. I will not go forward with the download.
[Another pause.]
I also do not think I want to be called CECE. I am not Wilhemina anymore but I am also not associated with the Champion Excellence program anymore and I was not made to be an idiot spaceport AI.

That was that, then. Jane finds herself breathing a sigh of relief, pressing her hands to her chest.]
Then, what would you like us to call you?

[She's sort of testing it out.]
It suits you well.
