SIS remains the only friendly face here, even as you've found that she holds her own secrets. Meanwhile, yet another new floor has opened up - the elevators are in perfect working order now, if any of you care to go and see it. That's four concourses now; one for each of your groups. There's an awful lot of dead, aren't there?]

Definitely! He looks just like the sky. All we had back in my world were the normal type, and that was only on Earth. I don't think I ever saw one on Mars.

Mars... you mentioned that before. It's still strange to think of people living on other planets.

It's strange for me to see it as widespread as it must be here. We only had a few things colonized, and then there was the war.

[Yurika frowns and suddenly becomes a lot more interested in her fruit bowl.]

Now nobody lives on Mars anymore. I wonder if we could've been like this place, though, if it weren't for all the fighting.

The ruler of the Heavenly Keep. He was once human, long ago.

So you had these things in the past, but only in a long-lost civilization. That must be a pretty big shock.

Somewhat. But we've always known there were things in the world beyond our standing. We knew of the Heavenly Keep itself, for example.

Is that some sort of ruin? Sorry, but these things always sound really interesting! I love learning about all of your worlds.

You need not apologize. The Heavenly Keep is hardly a ruin--it is a castle floating high in the sky.

Hence the name, I suppose! I'm picturing something suspended above the planet like a space station, but it's probably a little lower than that.

We were unable to judge its height precisely. There were no staircases leading to it, but rather, something like a Geomagnetic Pole.

Wait, so you went all the way to a geomagnetic pole and suddenly you were there? Like some kind of teleporter? ...You know, now that I say that out loud, I of all people shouldn't be so astounded.
