[That certainly was a rude awakening. The champions may have lost their nun and their Doctor but they've gained two very important things: freedom from the simulation they've been living in for the past several weeks and a demoted Xander. Some of them may still desire his head on a plate but, like it or not, he is one of them once more.

There's no sign of life in the spaceport aside from PAL's omnipresent voice and SIS, the helpful asSIStant who has some control over certain heres and theres in the spaceport. She is available at all times and can appear anywhere if called.

The only area unexplorable so far are the double doors by the laundry room. They're locked tight and no amount of kicking or warpstriking will open them. But perhaps they'll open in due time.]

Oh, I don't really mind it too much. That sort of thing...it's fun as a fantasy, but having something a bit plainer feels right to me.

Yeah. And...I don't think I could've gotten used to wearing fancy, expensive clothes so often anyway. I am, at heart, a sneakers and t-shirts kind of gal.

Being yourself instead of what they think you should be? I can definitely understand that.

Something like that, yes. And something as small as picking out your clothes and what you do with them can do wonders for your self image, I've found.

That's true! No one wants to be stuck in those space clothes. They'd work if you were out in an Aestivalis or something, but really.

They also work a lot better when you've got the physique for them.

Oh, everybody feels lumpy and weird in them at first. I'm used to them, but I definitely prefer something cuter.

Really? Everybody? I don't know...if you know you look good, why would you feel awkward in something like that?

I don't think anybody really thinks they look good, even if they say they do. Self-confidence is hard, you know?

Maybe it's better in the future, but I have a feeling that wouldn't have reformed if everything's still so... what's that word, profit-driven. Nari-san's theory aside, they did say they're keeping our friends for profit somehow.

[The concept itself is really sickening, and that's coming from a girl who has, for most of her life, been gung-ho over inheriting her own mega corporation.]

Though...it does make me wonder if that's why we're here, too. Like...for real. If it's all actually for someone's profit.

Some kind of underworld betting ring, or even like Nari-san's theory... I wish we knew for certain.

It doesn't look like it right now, but we didn't think we could do half of the things we've done. We've made it this far.

...But how? I...can barely even understand why anyone would allow it to keep going if they saw it...

We know they throw people away and leave them for dead when they're not useful anymore. If they keep doing that, they'll have nobody left. It's not just us who are losing people.

...So you think...there's got to be a break in the ranks, or something?

We've already gotten Xander-san back. If there's someone else they tricked into this or even someone who thinks, "I might be next..."

...Then we've got to foster that kind of doubt - believable enough to win people over to the side of doing the right thing!

That's what I thought! We can win them over, maybe before the mastermind turns on them.

...But then we'd need a way to actually contact those people. Where would they even be?

We couldn't get a signal out of the mall because it was virtual. There's nothing saying that we can't get a signal out of here if we find something to do it.
