Week 4

[After everything that this case was, you probably don't want to deal with anything else. But you wake up on Sunday, just like before, with some new memories, and some new stores to check out.

Let's see what this week brings.]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( Don't forget to check in, and check your memory regains! You can also stop by the gacha machine and Xander's office hours. ))

I was trying to work my way towards this.

[Heart takes the cookbook and hands it over, a specific dish.]

I have some... recollections of the dish, let's say, so it seemed as good a place to start as any.
cyan_maid: (What's that now?)

holy shit i love oyakodon

[Jane takes a look...and wow, yeah, this is something she does not have experience with making. It seems simple, but what if it's deceptively simple? She hums softly.]

...Well, I'm certain there's much more difficult things to start with. This seems basic, but...I've never eaten anything like it, much less cooked it. [Still, she looks up at Heart and manages a smile.] Perhaps it could be a learning experience for both of us?

god right i wish i had some now

It should be easy enough to figure out with both of us, surely.

[Honestly he'd keep going at it even if she wasn't here to help, because what is admitting defeat. But it's... good she IS here, honestly.]

I hope it will be. Thank you, I... appreciate having some assistance.
cyan_maid: (Mm-hm!)

i miss it so much

Well, you're very welcome.

[Let's take a closer look at this recipe to make sure she's got things square...]

Interesting...it really wants you to cut the chicken and the onion quite thin...

Yes, it was very specific about that. I imagine everything in these recipes must be very deliberate. A sort of science in a way, I suppose?
cyan_maid: Jane is neutral or unsure (Um...)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2018-03-05 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, definitely. Cooking has often been likened to science, and for good reason. If you want to think of it in those terms...you're subjecting objects to a stimulus in order to receive a specific reaction. Namely, you heat the food a certain way to make it edible.

Right... I suppose that might help, to look at it that way.

I'm more often guided by feeling than anything else, but in this case... Precision might be helpful, lest I end up burning something again.
cyan_maid: (Shush!)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2018-03-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Precision is a good place to start! Once you get more used to things, then you can go with your feelings.

I'll keep that in mind.

Learning how to do something from the very beginning is... not something you have to do often when most relevant knowledge was already programmed into you.

I suppose it isn't...but it's a good experience to have, right? Doing something completely new.
