Yeah, about that.

He said his employers healed him.

Which makes me wonder just how close the actual masterminds really are.

Well, they probably wouldn't want him to be incapacitated in any way, otherwise it could interfere with their 'game'.

Maybe there's still sections of the mall that they could be hiding in.

It's likely he went to get healed directly after the fight with Soma's body. None of us saw him after that until he revealed himself, did we?

There's also like, antibiotic gel from the gumball machine that works wonders, and I got the arm to prove it.

And it could be some kind of remote healing. Like, a device. That's not totally unheard of even in my time, healing units in armor. Still experimental, but...

That's the most likely possibility. It'd be imprudent of Xander to leave the mall, and it's unlikely the masterminds would come here to heal him. Healing through some sort of device or gel should do the trick.
