No interfering with your own timeline. ...Unless you're Junpei, apparently, but I think I'll stick to traveling in a way that doesn't involve mortal danger. Well. Doesn't INHERENTLY involve mortal danger, you can get into danger anytime, anywhere if you're clever enough.

What- no, yes, of course there's things that can change. There's some things that are fixed, but- ...it can be hard to tell which, if you're not very experienced.

But. Some things, sometimes even big things, can be rewritten, for good or bad.

But they're not even... big things, sometimes? The universe can just decide that... something has to happen?

Time is. It's not strictly a progression from cause to effect, not the way people think it is. The future can affect the past as much as vice versa.

It's like- oh, think of it like a really big web. Some threads can be cut or moved without affecting much. Others, if you even touch them too much, the whole thing collapses.

We could give it a shot, if you want. I mean, I can try explaining now, but it gets a little- ...English doesn't necessarily have all the words you'd need for a complete explanation, you understand. They just don't exist.

But once we're out of here, I'll have my ship back, and that means a pretty good chance at figuring out how you do what you do, which'd be, you know, a pretty big step towards not having everything go pear-shaped.

Or, you know. At least a chance to see a little bit of time and space without all the death and destruction. If you wanted.
