[After everything that this case was, you probably don't want to deal with anything else. But you wake up on Sunday, just like before, with some new memories, and some new stores to check out.

[Well, she supposes considering what Hope's Peak is and what they went through-- it's probably more interesting than if it was any other normal school.]

Heck yeah, I tend to tell people about my stupid shitfuck friends, 'bout time I hear about everyone else's.

I guess... the survivors are as good a place to start as any.

[She points to a boy with untamed red hair.]

L-Leon Kuwata. He died in Hope's Peak... b-but showed up in Starfield Penitentiary with the rest of the people from my group. He's the Ultimate Baseball Star-- n-not that he cares a lot about the sport. Apparently he was more interested in music.

But in Hope's Peak he was e-executed for killing Sayaka Maizono.

...as of what I know now, he was still alive in Starfield. B-but he's not here, so he probably...

[MMMMMMMMM.]

So...probably double dead? That...would be some shitty luck. But maybe there's a chance...

Why'd he do it? Were you guys given, uh, proper motivation too?

...probably. Yeah. Wh-who knows though...

[She doesn't have much reason to believe it though.]

Yeah. But... he wasn't the one who acted. Sayaka... s-she tried to kill him and frame one of the others. But Leon... he got a chance to fight back and...

Although he could have walked away he chose not to. He followed her and killed her. The motive we got... had to do with what was going on outside of the school. Sayaka was told something happened to her friends. So... in order to get out and find out the truth she tried to...

...Oof. I mean...he could've let that go. But at the same time, knowing that one of your own tried to kill you? Knowing they'd probably do it again? I dunno, maybe he did a service.

...even if he let her go, sh-she couldn't have just let him go. If he'd told anyone...

[Having time to think about it... changed the way she thought about some of the things her classmates did. Going through this a second-- third time was honestly perfect for it.]

She would have been stupid not to try again. If it wasn't him... s-someone would have probably targeted her. If not him... m-maybe the person she tried to frame... or she might have thought that. Not like he really would.

No, it...makes sense, it just sucks that that's the way it had to go down. Just because she had to fuck around first.

None of us knew what was happening outside of that school. The idea that the people we cared about-- the lives people built-- were being destroyed while we were stuck in that place... she just c-couldn't handle it. She thought if she could just get out... maybe... she could save the group she cared so much for.

...she couldn't have known that it was already too late. They were just... using her emotions against her. Th-the same way they will here.

But we know better here. We know where we're from, we know our own histories even if we don't remember this other experiment we were in. We've got at least a little bit of an advantage...

...you're right. We know now... we've all done this before. We know... what happens... to the people who try to play the game.

I just... hope that will be enough.

[He nudges her gently.]

The other people that lived... b-besides the ones here, are... Asahina Aoi, Hagakure Yasuhiro, Kirigiri Kyouko and Naegi Makoto.

For starters... Asahina is the Ultimate Swimmer. Hagakure is the Ultimate Clairvoyant. Kirigiri is the Ultimate Detective. And Naegi... is the Ultimate Lucky Student.

How can you be the ultimate at being lucky? Did he cheat at gambling? Aces up his sleeves and loaded dice?

It's pretty stupid, isn't it. The truth is... he was just selected at random. From a raffle. Because of that, he was able to come to Hope's Peak.

Champion Unlucky Bastard.

More like it, yeah. It would have been an honor... if it wasn't for what Junko Enoshima started.

...Would it be wildly inappropriate of me to make fun of her name?

Considering sh-she's the person who started the killing game... you can make fun of her all you want.

Junky Junkrat. What'd she go and the fuck do that for?

Junko Enoshima... was an Ultimate, just like us. She and her sister... were our classmates.

But she's n-not right in the head. She has the h-horrible fascination with despair-- for others, f-for herself...

She and her followers nearly destroyed our world.

And Hope's Peak-- the school known for producing elite individuals who would eventually shape the future... d-destroying that place would have been the u-ultimate victory for her. If even Hope's Peak wasn't safe... th-then people would truly feel despair. She didn't know any way better than... having the world w-watch as former classmates killed each other one by one....

...Did literally nobody see that that kid needed some serious fucking help when she was growing up or what?

Who the hell knows. It never... should have gotten to that point. Instead... she gained a lot of twisted followers and became the Ultimate Despair...

To the point where she accepted and put herself through her own execution in the last trial we held in Hope's Peak...

Good fucking riddance, honestly.
