[They were finally let out of the court room but things were far from great. Instead of a gathering to mourn the dead-- what they really needed right now was a proper gathering to meet and discuss what happened. As soon as they got out, she yelled for everyone to meet in the food court. She hurried immediately to start some tea and coffee and prepare what she could. All of them probably needed a moment.]

Sorry to drag you all here after... all that. But... again... it's b-better if we stay together right now. And I think... an emergency meeting i-is in order.

If you want anything to eat I can... t-try. But in the meantime I started some tea and c-coffee... so... As long as we're together try-- to relax. We're... g-going to get through this.

[Ardyn had gone back to being very pale and very quiet; his sword was back on his belt, arms folded and stance rigid to hide any remaining tremor he might have held from either adrenaline or nerves.]

[Despite the rest of him, his face was impassive and calm; gold eyes focused on their surroundings as he stood off to the side like a sentry.]

[ Aaaand here's Varric, looking just a little sour and a lot disturbed. He stands next to Ardyn, straight backed and silent. He's got your back, same as before. ]

[Fukawa, holding it together best she can-- sits down a cup of tea for him.]

[ Yeah Clarith is just in the corner, shaking like a leaf. Listen, despite surviving a war, the closest she got to the front lines was being caught by some soldiers. She sure as fuck never saw battle and that kind of thing never happened. So she's definitely not okay, between Soma dying and that entire event. ]

[Pyrrha's here, and keeping close to certain people like Jane and Clarith, standing on guard and only really leaving to make some more tea when it runs low.

She's... tensed up, in her whole body it seems. Ever so often she turns her head to watch the entrance to Fort's. She does that for a couple minutes before going back to whatever she was doing.

Ironically, she's not eating very much herself.]

[Tea is appreciated but also you'll notice if you leave a cup out for Jane she's. Not drinking it? It goes cold instead as you busy yourself.

Food likely won't be eaten either.]

[Besides doing what she can to chime in, she's also running around fussing on everyone-- making sure they're as close to okay as they're getting. It... helps. She'd rather not worry about herself right now. So if you need a drink, she's here for you. Or if you want to ask her for anything else well-- she put the offer out there so.

Later on though she's going to slow down and start to retreat a little. What happened to Soma-- the thing inside of him-- she has something like that too. One wrong move and she could be just like him. That monster could kill any of the people she cared about. For the first time she really feels the doubt starting to build. He talked a nice game about wanting to be friends and yet--

[Arianna never strays too far from Clarith, so she waits for Fukawa to make her way in that direction.]

[Everyone is shaken up and scared.

Nari is just restless. Irritated. Pacing away from the others, she probably won't stick around long. Nevermind getting her to sit long enough to eat.]

[Stick around long or not, Pyrrha's going to find her as soon as she can. She catches up to her as she paces.]

[Vampires. Now there may be vampires on the prowl -- maybe, if Xander didn't stop Dracula or turned into a thrall. Sure, Soma had warned them all, but they had done nothing about it. In hindsight, it was foolish to not have taken precautions.

Togami is walking around, looking in all directions and trying to listen for anything that sounded like something was going to pounce on them in any moment. From time to time he turns towards people, and asks them a single question:]

You! What do you know about vampires?

There were vampires in my world. The Great Vampires, the Yssgaroth.

Shapeshifters, hypnotic powers, fed on blood, you had to destroy the heart to kill them. They inspired or sired creatures that went on to become the vampire legends you find on almost every world. They're all dead now.

[Well that was a thing. Soma being dead stings like a motherfucker after Mai, but so long as that thing in Soma's skin is taken care of--so long as Natsuhi's murderer is taken care of--then he can sleep easy tonight.

Church is mostly mad and restless and unsettled while he's around. And maybe using his knife to carve random patterns in the tabletop.]

[ Did you know that the "Choro" in Choromatsu is a play on both the word "choroi" (simple) and the onomatopoeia "chorochoro" (darting around rapidly, like a small animal)? Did you also know that ever since childhood Choromatsu has lived up to that part of his name in both regards, but especially the latter? Which is to say Choromatsu isn't here because he fucking booked it and is now cowering somewhere that isn't the food court. He's dealt with a lot of shit before, including creatures like tanuki and a literal shinigami in his childhood (and... whatever you wanna call Dayon). But vampires? Nuh uh. And that was a whole lot of hecky! So he is hiding in a Moonglow dressing room, scared shitless. So much for trying to be useful. ]

[It was a little while before Ardyn came looking for Choromatsu; after Xander's message. Plus it took him a little while to find where the little greenbean'd run off to, and once most other avenues were exhausted-]

Choromatsu? [Knock knock.] It's dead--we're safe for now.

[ Once the message confirming the creature's death has come through, Varric relaxes and begins to move about the meeting. Of course, it isn't long until he finds himself something to drink on top of it. He'll probably be holding that and a spare when he approaches, holding the glass out to whoever he's targeting.

Of course, once he's had enough in him, the mood changes. He finds a table to sit upon and begins humming to himself. Once he has enough attention, though, he begins to outright sing. ]

[Look, at this point she's much calmer and comes bearing some nice whiskey.]

Drinking alone is no fun. Want some company?

[The news that the vampire is dead is good, of course. None of this went how any of them would like, but it's the situation they're stuck with, and at least no other Champion has been harmed. It's something.

But there's a lot of unresolved feelings left now. Anger with nothing good to take it out on, sadness muffled by everything else, and all of it coated with a good deal of spite. How the fuck do people deal with that, exactly?

So after a little while, Heart's sitting at a table and with him he's got a bottle of whiskey and a glass he's filling up.

Listen he's just gonna cope how humans cope. Because at this point, honestly, why not.]
