week 2
[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
(( Also, don't forget to submit your AC and item rolls! You can also bother your Overseer here. ))

I get your brother's situation is...fucky. Why do you think your ex resents you?

He disappeared.

There were tales in the ages to follow of a wraith haunting a deep canyon in the Lucian continent--who Shields to follow would venture to challenge in order to prove their strength.
I don't really know or care how he survived as long as I did. I never cared to see him again--since he abandoned me, I rather presumed I must have meant nothing to him in the end.

And at the same time, [he says with some gestures, because him gesture] you're starting to turn into a plague monster. And since people turned on you and tried to kill you and shit, I gotta assume he knew, probably before anyone else but you. And you don't stop, cuz you can't stop, cuz you're a good person who would rather do all he can how he can than to rule over a kingdom of death.
So you turn into a vicious evil hatemonster, and your brother takes over and tries to kill you. Is this the normal reaction to plague monsters? I'm unclear on the manner of the hateplague other than it's fucking sentient and also somehow blocks out the sun, which, that doesn't sound physically possible, but okay.
Which means our boyfriend, who was supposed to protect you, had to watch you try to die over and over again, because what's he gonna do, take the plague from you? He can't, unless you're gonna tell me he was a surprise magical healer too. Means he failed the guy he loved.
Like of course he went into hiding. He was fucking ashamed.

[Was that...really possible? The reason Gilgamesh hadn't answered, hadn't intervened in any of countless executions of the would-be king he'd sworn to protect...was it really because he hadn't seen any choice? Had he just vanished out of shame, spending two millennia in the Tempering Grounds to eliminate any other Shield weak of either will or body that might fail as he had?]
[Ardyn didn't answer, the resulting thousand-yard stare not quite directed at Church so much as it was straight through him.]

The fact that Ardyn was even thinking on it so hard meant that Church hadn't entirely misread the situation. He ran his good hand through his hair, and it did not, in fact, flop back in exactly the same way. His other hand rested palm up on the table, keeping the wound from the direct hard contact.
But there's only so long he can wait around for Ardyn to spin that possible revelation in his head, and he reaches out to lay a hand on his shoulder.]
You can come back to Earth now, Ardy. Or...back to the mall, anyway.

I-...

Whoa, easy there, King Nothing, just...trying to get you to come back to reality. Such as it is.

[What with the feelings and the complete upheaval of life and existence as he knew it.]
I'll be fine.
