week 2
[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
(( Also, don't forget to submit your AC and item rolls! You can also bother your Overseer here. ))

How would lying to you benefit me?

[With how flatly he said that, it came across as something Ardyn actually believed rather than some arrogant declaration.
All I am doing is...trying to follow this compulsion to see where it might lead.

And I guess you don't really have secrets, huh?

[Correct, in other words.]

And you don't have like space travel and colony worlds or anything.

So you...ended...some of the planet?

Noctis' secret alluded to an 'endless night', I presume you noticed. That is and ever was going to be the result of the Starscourge; more than mere disease, it was a sentient plague foretold to someday block out the sun and plunge the world into perpetual night until such time that the Chosen King could banish it.
I, as the scourge's vessel and avatar, was the one to orchestrate things such that the plague would be left to run largely unchecked. I allowed Niflheim's army to weaponize the plague, killed the only other person with the power to heal those it infected, and waited for Noctis to return for ten years of night.
With the Starscourge so prolific, I've no way of knowing how many people succumbed to it or the dangers of the night it brought. I know Niflheim's capital city fell entirely, and I expect the rest of the world did not fare much better.
