week 2
[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
(( Also, don't forget to submit your AC and item rolls! You can also bother your Overseer here. ))

[She shifts - or more like rolls over, so he can't see how red her face turns. Jane is pretty mortified about her reaction last night, to be quite honest.
Muffled,] Plenty of room...that's the point...

[She means yes.]

[ He puts 'em on the pile, then joins her. ]
How are you doing?

[She rolls a little more so she can look at Noctis, because not looking at someone when you're talking is rude. In this position, she's kind of...curled up, and pulling the edge of one of the blankets on top of her.]
Not as bad as last night. But...not the best, either. I don't know. It's...really confusing.

I shouldn't have...it was so stupid of me to scream like that, I'm not a child, but something just...whenever it involves her, even if it's through a tangent, I just...can't take it.

The... Condesce, right?

[She pulls the blanket a little closer.]
I can try to answer your questions. But...you've got to understand, I...would like to keep some of it to myself.
[If Noctis hadn't been there for her the night before, she would have said no. But he was there. And if he needed some things clarified, Jane owed him that much.]

Deal?

[Alright Noct, go for it.]

...Maybe partly. The juggalos, and some of the other stuff...that was all for her own pleasure, but it was also all part of the grander scheme. It's just what she always did for eons. Conquer planets and people...bleed them dry...stab a fork into what's hers and use it up until it doesn't work, and then toss it away.

[Another swallow. This is where things start to get muddy.]
Back home...for me, the year was 2011. Right near the end of it. And the day I left home - the day she arrived, my friends and I were going to get together to play a game. They had to leave their homes, too, and...two of them...I didn't believe them until after we were all together, but they were from my world, but over four hundred years in the future from me.
no subject
... Over four hundred years? How does that work?

I can't explain it - I honestly don't know. There's...a lot about the game we played that I still don't understand, but that was...the game was at the root of everything.
no subject
So... what's this game?
no subject
...Sburb. It's...it presents itself as a video game, but it's more than that. You can literally change the world around you with it - get sucked into another reality entirely, and...the point of it is, you and whoever you're playing with...it's your job to make an entirely new universe. And the only way out, the real only way out, is to do that. To win.
[Her voice is pretty hushed in case other people are around, but it is loud enough for Noctis to hear - and she keeps talking, more than she even meant to say, as if everything has been a plugged up fountain just waiting to burst.]
But our session of the game was void. We completely bungled a lot of huge, starting steps, and we couldn't do anything. We were waiting for...more players. Ones from another session. [Her Poppop, as a teen. Jake's Grandma, Roxy's Mom, Dirk's Bro. All as teenagers.] There was no way to progress without them, but once they came, everything started falling apart. That's when the Condesce made her move on us.
