week 2
[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
(( Also, don't forget to submit your AC and item rolls! You can also bother your Overseer here. ))

I am rather forced to acknowledge that for the time being, it...is perhaps careless of me not to coexist with all of you. And while I have this compulsion I so detest, it is also possible that resisting it and sequestering myself...would be a poor course of action.
[In the uncertain pause that followed, Ardyn pushed violet hair from his eyes only for it to fall right back into the peculiar artfully disheveled state it was perpetually in.]
Much as I hate it, perhaps...relying on others here is to be a temporary necessity.

[What does that silence mean? What does it mean? Why is he staring with such intensity.
Without a word, he slides off the table and vanishes from the store. It's minutes, several long minutes, wherein Ardyn might think that somehow he must have said something wrong or offensive, for Church to merely abandon him.
When he returns, and rest assured that he does, he sits right back down where he was and removes his arm from his makeshift sling so he can fiddle with Ardyn's hair, pushing back the offending strands falling into his eyes and pinning them back with a series of bobby pins nagged from Nebula.]
You gotta do something about this if you're gonna keep shoving it all around, it just falls right the hell back.

[People really weren't worth trustin-]

[That sounded genuinely awestruck instead of a simple question, Ardyn realizing that Church had actually come back instead of just leaving him to his own literal devices.]
[...which was quickly tempered by a more normal level of confusion at the hands in his hair.]
What--what are you doing?
no subject
[He leans back to inspect his handiwork.] Better?
no subject
You didn't...leave.
no subject
[Did you contract the stupids suddenly?]

[little bit]
You came back. Instead of simply... [Ardyn gestured with one hand, words briefly failing.] ...walking out to forgo the matter entirely.
no subject
[He's joking but his hands are definitely back on the table instead.]
You were just admitting what we all have been telling you from day one. You even said yourself you thought an isolation chamber would only hurt instead of help. Dumbass.
no subject
[That at least seemed to push Ardyn out of whatever state of shock he was in, folding his arms.]
I...just thought you simply didn't care to hear something like that from me. That perhaps it was too late to bother.
no subject
Or aggressively mock you. Like. In a nasty way, not in a funny way. Like Richie Rich.
no subject
Wait...you don't? I was rather beginning to suspect you found me an infuriating annoyance.

[i mean. even ardyn had to admit he'd seriously toned down the psycho.]

Does this mean everyone gets to say 'I told you so' to your face?

So what are you gonna do with your newfound appreciation for people?
