Week 2

[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.

Oh, hello, and who might you be?

[The Doctor's just. Fucking. Strolling up to this monstrosity and peering into the camera with interest.]

[He takes a pair of sunglasses out of a pocket and puts them on like it's helping his vision somehow.]

Bit unprofessional in construction, sorry to say fella, but some interesting ideas so say the least.

[There's murmuring coming from the mannequin's chest, it sounds like someone shoved a walkie-talkie in it. Although most of it is inintelligible, maybe the Doctor can distinguish something very close to '...such a tacky suit"]

[He's gonna lean down a little towards that noise, giving a small, one-knuckled knock against the mannequin's chest.]

Good thought on the sound system, but it's a bit muffled. Too busy to put in a proper speaker grill?

[The mumbling stops. Around a minute or so passes before Togami arrives]

For your information, the sound system is unimportant.

[It's not that Togami wanted to use his own voice in this thing, but he judged people would try to talk to this thing, so he did that. Apparently that was the right thing to do]

Oh I dunno, not so unimportant if it's got you to come out of hiding.

[He gives a little wave, removing the sunglasses.]

So what's the point of this, just fighting boredom, or seeing who'll come out and poke at the new thing instead of hiding away?

It's an experiment. Both to test reactions to something like this and to test the possibility of observing people remotely.

[Although...this is definitely not a subtle way to watch anyone, Togami knows that]

Well, good start on the camouflaging, makes use of the surrounding environment, that sort of thing. Though, if I might make a suggestion? How 'bout a big sign across the chest that reads "IGNORE ME," all in capital letters?

Then afterwards I look for a neon sign to tell them to continue talking, and perhaps add some background music to help it blend better?

[Said in the most dry tone he can manage. You're not helping, Doctor, and Togami is sure you're doing that on purpose]

That is brilliant, you should do exactly that.

Some of the phones and music players in Universe have some tracks preloaded for demonstration purposes, you could use them.

[Togami hates this mall so much, why can't it have been a place filled with more sensible people instead of goofballs]

[Yyyyyeah, he intends to run away to the other end of the mall with his mannequin as soon as the Doctor starts walking away. Run, Togami!

...the Doctor is going to find him pretty much instantly, isn't he.]

Oh, I'd be glad to. You know, for the sake of the test.

[Which is clearly something of actual value, and not just an incredibly upper class version of an internet prank show.]

[And yeah, he tracks down Togami again pretty quickly. This place is big, but not that big.]

[And he's just going to announce his presence by blasting some music on the pilfered smartphone he's brought back.]

[There were, what, four, five minutes of peace before some horrid music started sounding nearby. Togami doesn't even turn around, knowing very well who had just found him.

He mumbles to nobody in particular:]

I don't know what I expected, but this is much worse than anything I may have imagined.

[He turns around. Hi, Doctor, fancy meeting you again]

What's that swill you intend to pass as music?

Oh come on, it's a classic. And more to the point, it's apparently now public domain, comes included on the phone.

...don't tell me you consider the likes of the Macarena a classic too.

[What happened to real classical music? Where's the orchestral music?]
