[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.

[Now, here's the thing. Pyrrha isn't particularly foolish, and she generally had a kind heart. But she's loyal, and as much as some small part of her would like to break one of Xander's legs for what he did last week, that just wouldn't do. No sense in a senseless sacrifice right now.

Of course, there are other options. Like the bow and plastic suction cup arrows she's been wearing today, both in the spirit of the holiday and she was looking for something to shoot. And he's right... there....

Honestly, the arrow is in her bow and lined up to the square of his back before she really knows it. What can he do if he's hit by a suction cup arrow? Kill her? Would he really be that petty?

She doesn't stop to consider that as she lets the arrow fly.]

[Arianna's in Dairy Empress again this morning. Certain people will find the scene familiar, because she's trying once again to bake apple turnovers. This time things seem to be going a bit differently? Her actions are a little more deliberate, she has an assistant in the form of a purple Roomba with a sunflower sticker on it, and oh yeah, she's following an actual recipe this time. Sorry, probably should have led with that. Midmorning there will be fresh baked goods for everyone.

Later she and her Roomba buddy (Roombuddy?) make their way over to ChocoLIT for a second round of dessert-making. She has this down to an art, and she's in here for hours, working intently. There's a supply of assorted chocolate-dipped fruits for anyone interested, but she puts most of her effort toward the carving she's been practicing, producing an assortment of tiny two-dimensional chocolate animals. ...some of which end up being kind of abstract, but she's trying.

She stays out a little late this evening, hanging out in Universe and waiting on the juggaloids again. Once they're out and about, she starts watching their movements carefully, waiting for the right moment to run.]

It's almost disturbing, how well you understand me. [Yet the smirk on Varric's lips remained. All told, he looks thoroughly undisturbed.]

The last woman I was with? I spent most of our time together looking around dark corners, expecting someone to gut me for even being there.

I didn't even read mine. I already knew what it would be, and I've already told everyone back home.

That? That is exactly what I was thinking. I can't be blamed for not wanting to live in an undecorated piercing station for however long we're stuck here.

So it's more of an annoyance then?

[ When Thursday rolls around, it looks like the improved morale (or at least, the willingness for Yuuri to pretend there's improved morale) is here to stay. Yuuri's up bright and early in Starbucks, earlier than she usually is and she's messing around with the coffee machines for once. She ends up with some fucking monstrosity that has way too much coffee in it but... well, she's made her bed and now she'll lay in it. While she's eating breakfast, you might catch her fiddling with a pair of flower corsages that don't look like anything from any of the stores. One of them is a green rose and the other is a little cluster of white blossoms. She ends up putting the rose in her hair and pinning the blossom to her blouse and when she sets off to do her daily routine, there's a bit of a smile on her face.

She's around the mall, taking inventory as usual. She's replaced her usual notebook with a tablet and honestly, she looks glad for the fact that she doesn't have to haul that notebook around anymore. The food court seems to be where she spends the most time, since they've been doing a lot of eating this week but you'll find her checking out other stores, too.

Finally, she stops off at Flavortown to try out that ridiculous machine. And she must have a whole lot of those coins because she ends up with a huge pile of gacha crap. Please... please intervene. Please take some of this away from her. ]

[She folds it up and replaces it in the envelope.]

Sometimes, a person's judgement of others can be clouded by their own inclinations.

[Which couldn't possibly be happening right this moment, of course. Definitely no reason to suspect Arianna is being overly optimistic about everyone.]

Why? [There's a hint of anger in his eyes, but mostly he looks confused, even a little uneasy. The pitiful dwarf role was not one he was particularly comfortable with playing. It was him that was supposed to be offering comfort, not the other way around.]

There are people out there more upset than I am. Save your breath for someone who's really going to need it. Me? I'll be fine. [He took a breath, only to find that the discomfort had been replaced with a twang of guilt.]

It's not that I don't appreciate it. But I know myself well enough to promise that I'm not going to be bashing heads in this week in order to keep this from spreading. We don't know that about the others.

Possibly... I'm not really sure of the American holiday. It's not been celebrated for very long in Japan.

The these things are the people who made this place's idea of vacuum cleaner? I'm really doubting that they are. But if they are, then they're supposed to collect dust and smaller pieces of filth.

There are, and they are being looked after as well. Considering that we're a group, even if we didn't choose to be, all we can do is look out for each other.

And everyone is very determined to insist that they don't need anything. That's your choice, of course. I'm not asking for anything more than this conversation. I just wanted...
