[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

There's a skirt for every occasion. Like pencil skirts!

That is true. You know what I ought to try someday? There's those riding skirts that are split in the middle, or you can make them into pants for riding or something? I'd like to try those.

Those are really comfortable. I've ridden in those before since I didn't feel like putting on pants to ride around on Argo.

I think they're specialty clothes, though, right? So it's not so easy to find them in, say, a normal mall.

Nope. A true riding skirt would have to be ordered, or you have to find a specialty shop for it.

[No riding skirt to wear into the murdergame, then.]

It's not the same fabric as a regular skirt. It has to be warm and weather hardy, but still usable in summer time.

So, what kinds of fabrics exactly, then? I...I will confess, I don't know much about sewing.

It depends on when and what you're doing. If I went to Alaska in winter, I'd want an insulated skirt. Leather and wool. In a rainier place I'd want something that would repel water. For casual riding? A cotton and wool blend would be good.

I guess I'd want to look for the casual kind, then. I've never really been riding.

For you, in Washington, I'd recommend a poly-blend. Not as pretty, but polyester is better with water than cotton.

Hm...you have a good point. And it would really ruin my day if I had to sit around in super wet clothes the whole time.

And despite what people say, getting cold doesn't make you sick. You must have been sick before or picked something up while your immune system is suppressed by the cold.

Oh! The cold suppresses it? I didn't know that.

Heat does the same thing. That's how a lot of people wind up sick. Your body is out of whack.

I see, I see...I wonder why that isn't what people are told, instead of, oh, don't forget to protect against the cold and only the cold.

Because they would rather keep repeating misinformation instead of getting the facts straight. The masses know misinformation, and it's soothing to them knowing others are spreading it, because it makes them feel like they belong.
