[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

Because I wasn't. And I didn't want anyone to be worried.

[ a little late in the day for that, of course. ]

He calmed down once he realized I wasn't there to pick a fight and I got the chance to ask him a few things.

...actually, I have asked him some questions as well. We should pool our information.

I asked him to clarify some things about the rules. I hadn't had the chance to go over them in detail when he first introduced himself.

It seems that, in the event that one of us does... [if she doesn't say murder it can't happen] invoke the seventh rule, we are meant to investigate the incident, and act as a court of law.

[serrata]

Well, I guess we're lucky we've got a detective with us if it comes to that.

[ Assuming, you know, the detective doesn't go out first. ]

He also said the cameras were meant to allow reviewing what had taken place in the event of a trial. So we would have that available to us as well.

[Or, you know, not.]

... that almost sounds too easy though, don't you think? Is there even anywhere in here that isn't covered by the cameras?

...our sleeping areas, and the rooms with the showers and toilets.

... I suppose that's not really much room to plan a murder in.

[ watch now, as case 1 ends with a body in every bathroom ]

So even if anyone did try something, they'd be caught out right away. How pointless.

Yes, it seems that way. We'd have such an advantage that anyone would be foolish to try.
