[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

[WHEN DID ARIANNA GET HERE oh probably like two seconds ago, judging by how she's still standing by the doorway. She has a SpcDonald's bag that probably doesn't actually have things from SpcDonald's in it, judging by the complete lack of grease spots, and to the surprise of nobody ever she's smiling.]

[ She blinks a few times like she's having to place herself back in there here and now to properly join in the conversation. But then she gives Arianna a smile. ]

That's right. Takeya Yuki-chan from the School Living Club.

The organization of which you are Champion. [She nods.] You miss her.

[ Yuuri nods as well. ]

It's not even been a full week but I feel like I'm missing an arm or a leg. We're usually so joined at the hip, I don't really know what to do with myself now she isn't here.

...I must confess to similar feelings. I have been keeping busy to keep my mind off of it, but nevertheless it feels strange not having the other members of Starlight present.

With all that's happened, I'd be an idiot to wish they were here too... but it'd make it all a little more bearable, wouldn't it?

[ She laughs, but it sounds forced. ]

Of course, that probably makes me a terrible person, so I'll try not to wish too hard.

I don't think you're a terrible person. When facing such circumstances as these, it's only natural to wish you could have your trusted friends by your side.

I can promise you, if any of them had turned up here with me, I'd be having words with our Overseer.

[ she reaches over and very gently boops Arianna's nose. ]

That sounds wonderful! And... most likely necessary, as well. I've been less active since coming here, after all.

Me too. I was actually trying to run a little bit every single day back home and Yuki-chan was sort of... well, she wasn't my coach exactly. Maybe she was more like my cheerleader...?

[They hold them out to the sides and slit like five throats.

She used word of encouragement to give you strength?

Exactly. Even if I didn't think I could run another step, Yuki-chan would always be right there cheering me on and I knew I could keep going. It's important to have someone motivating you like that.

Yes, indeed! That sounds very much like the role I perform as a Sovereign.

Oh, really? So it's not just about ruling?

I suppose it depends on what you consider ruling to entail. I've always felt it was a leader's duty to ensure that those she leads are inspired to do their best.
