[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

At least two. [He furrowed his brows as he mouthed something to himself.] Shit, four maybe? Pretty sure I attract them.

[Though apparently amused at his reminiscence, Varric's expression quickly took on a dismal edge. Shaking his head, he directed his gaze elsewhere, though he couldn't say what it was he decided to settle on. He was worlds (and apparently centuries) away.]

Wish I could say I didn't know how I got my title.

Amicicide. Friend killer. [He lifted his hands, trying to indicate peace. As if even his very presence might doom the girl.

[ Thomasin's eyes, which are already literally dark and wide by virtue of what her face looks like, seem to go figuratively darker and wider than ever before. She doesn't know what words or action, exactly, might help this stranger, though her immediately impulse is to want to.

She does know exactly how it feels to bring evil down on the heads of those she loves. ]

I am sorry of it. And that they should treat thy loss as a title. [ ... ] What is your name?

That's the way this game is supposed to be, right? Break us down, turn us against each other? [He cracked a smile, but it faded just as quickly as it came on.] Unless you're on the same side as Xander, then it's not your fault.

[Thomasin's query actually surprises him a little. Caught up as he was, he'd forgotten one very important thing.]

Shit. That's uh... Not like me. [he let out a soft and only slightly strained chuckle.] It's Varric.

Well met, Varric. [ She tries to smile too, which lasts for an even shorter time than his. ] 'Tis a horror, but I may be lucky in this respect.

I cannot read what they say of me.
