[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

[ She winces, just a bit. She's not going to even pretend she sympathizes but that somehow seemed like a slip she wasn't supposed to hear. And with that, it's a little harder to snipe at him like she was.

But still. While she has him here, she has to ask. ]

Killing is... a waste. A waste of the potential that person could have had. Either in their skills, or their children, or even in just existing. No death should be taken lightly. Lives are not games.

But killing is un-avoidable. We hurt others everyday, defending ourselves, our lands, our family. Every breath you take is at the expense of someone else. I haven't forgotten that- I've just decided to prioritize something over you. There's no easy choices when lives are on the line.

[ And this time she really does see. She can't say she wouldn't do the same -- can't say she wouldn't choose her friends, choose Ruu over a bunch of strangers every single time the opportunity was given to her. If there's something precious enough to him that he'd go this far to protect it, Yuuri can understand that.

That doesn't keep her from loathing him for it. ]

It'd be easier if you were some kind of sadist, you know. Then I could just tell myself you were a monster and that would be the end of that. It's much more troublesome if you're human, like the rest of us.

[he starts shutting off the coffee machine- just in time, as the lights start going off]

Don't be too hasty in that. I promise, I can be just as monstrous as I need to be.

[he comes from around the counter, catching the grate as it starts to lower and holding it up for her]
