second trial

[Like last week the announcement sounds, the Champions with their gathered evidence file once again to the teleporter where the courtroom waits for them.

The a circle of podiums has changed since last week. The Griffin, Toby, and Angelica's floating portraits have joined Chintanda's above their respective podiums as well as the bright green having been changed to a glaring red.

The Overseers are waiting on their floating platform when the first group of Champions arrive. They're back in their black suits, side by side. Jamie's expression is grim but he looks more mentally present than the last trial. Bolton, on the other hand, looks stern but not grim, arms crossed over his chest. Once again, he's the one who makes the announcement.]

Welcome, Champions, to the courtroom. Sixteen of you have entered, but - in the best case scenario - only fifteen of you will leave. Compile your evidence and figure out who the killer is. If you vote correctly, the culprit will be executed and the rest of you will be allowed to go back upstairs. If you vote wrong, however, the killer goes free and the rest of you take the punishment in their place.

Remember, there is no time limit but keeping things interesting is in your best interests.

...this may be a bit off-topic, but if bleach is such a dangerous substance, why is it used for cleaning?

[ dangerous in more ways that one, ba dum tshh ]

Cause the same properties that make it so toxic also means it's really good at gettin' rid of mold and mildew. Most of the commercially-used stuff is diluted so it's safer.

Or has a whole lot of warnings on the bottle!

It's also why you're suggested to wear gloves and air out the room while using it.

Wait... Gloves! Did anybody find any around that were used?
stitch_in_time: (did I leave the gas on)

[personal profile] stitch_in_time 2017-02-25 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
None that were there when we got there.

[Anyone else?]

I had to go to the art room to find any for Seth to use when checking the body, so no.

If there weren't any, not even in the trash, then the culprit probably didn't use them. In that case, they probably still smell of bleach!
yukionna: (❄ aside talking)

[personal profile] yukionna 2017-02-25 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Even after all this time? Wouldn't the smell fade?
stitch_in_time: (that's not supposed to happen)

[personal profile] stitch_in_time 2017-02-25 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Bleach is pretty strong stuff.

[Maybe not fifteen-years strong, but pretty potent.]

The culprit might've gotten burns, too, if they got any on their skin and didn't wash it off quick enough.

[Good thinking, Yurika.]

Wh--really? That's a pretty vital mistake to make!

If they expected us to go straight for the suicide theory, then it wouldn't matter if they were burned or smelled of it.

Probably because it sanitizes things well. You can clean well enough with hot, soapy water, but when it comes to inanimate objects like floors and fixtures, especially bathrooms, you want to make sure you kill as many germs as possible. It also breaks down and removes the source of stains incredibly well, better than if you were just scrubbing on your own.

Ah, I see. So you just have to be pretty careful when using it, then.
cyan_maid: (What am I looking at here)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2017-02-25 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd have to water it down or use gloves while handling it, and make sure the room you're using it in has good air circulation.

In that case, I wonder if the culprit did the same, or was in a terrible hurry.
cyan_maid: (Huh?! With blush)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2017-02-25 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I couldn't say...but if they were in a hurry, do you think it's possible that they got some bleach on them?
