Week 6

[Six weeks. Twenty-three Champions whittled down to just seven. Where the halls of the station once felt crowded and loud now they're empty and echo when someone speaks too loudly. Again, the Champions will find themselves experiencing strange dreams on Sunday night but outside of the usual wake-up call there is no new floor announcement from CECE.

Like the trash compactor last week, the infirmary is pristine and sterile once again. As if nothing had ever happened.]

[She hasn't really used it for much besides sitting anyway, and hosting Marisa after Karamatsu's trial.]

[She sits quietly at the edge of a bed for a moment, hugging her blanket around her.]

...Roxy. You said you know some things about robots, right. Like your friend built.

I'm not a pro in that particular area or nothin, but yeah, I picked up some stuff for sure.

[She's quiet for another long moment, occasionally shifting like she's thinking about bolting.]

Do you know, um. How possible it would be to. Rebuild one. If it were k- destroyed. A lot.

[ She frowns. Thinks. ]

Yeah sure, I know Dirk could probs swing that.

...so the people that brought us here, they'd probably be able to do it too.

... yeah. As long as some of the important parts aren't destroyed, robots are pretty hard to wreck permanent-like.

[She doesn't sound like she thinks it's very lucky at all.]

[ Okay, she's gonna... slowly put an arm around Penny's shoulders, in case she wants to Move Away. ]

[Yeah, no, hugs are good. Penny's gonna just kind of. Lean into that.]

[She's quiet for another long moment, until all at once-]

I was having so much fun.

[ Mm. That phrasing hits a little close to home. ]

I'm- not completely sure.

[It's kind of a rushed blur, after a certain point.]

We were just- it was a tournament match, and- she did SOMETHING that deflected my swords, but- it was so fast.

Shit, and then you...

[ Hm. ]

Do you think she meant to?

[in4apounding]

[She nods mutely at the question, not making eye contact. She's really not sure what that deflection was, or why it had so much force behind it- but she understands the physics of her own weapons well enough to know what must have happened next, even if her memory of the actual moment is worryingly blank.]

...I don't know. She was a three-time junior champion, one of the best fighters our age. Maybe she didn't think it would be that bad, or- I don't know.

Shiiiit. Well... if we can get you out of here and back there, you can ask?

[ She side-hugs a little tighter. ]

And even really awful stuff can... turn out okay, in the end. Trust me.

Mmhm. I was pretty sure we lost the game we were playing, but... we figured out a way to win. Somehow.

That's- good? This was a lot more than a game, though.

[Tell her about Homestuck, Roxy. She could use the distraction.]

Game is a little... light, word-wise, for Sburb. A lot of people died.

Oh no, that sounds terrible! I'm so sorry.

It's cool. We... fixed a lot of them.

[ Ha... she sounds a little shaken, only because HI WOW REMEMBERING [S] GAME OVER.......... ]

Point is, it ain't over until it's over.

I guess. This- felt pretty final. ...but I'm sure my father could've fixed it- [hic] -even if- these people hadn't.

...It's. Almost sort of funny. I was so worried last week, about everyone finding out what I am, but. I guess they know anyway, now.
