[With the announcement and the evidence, the Champions are free to decide amongst themselves what order the groups leave in. Once that's done the process of teleporting is automatic and happens in the blink of an eye. Once second they're in the center of the cafeteria before a soft blue light surrounds them and then they're standing in the middle of a circle of podiums.

The room itself it the same shiny, chrome-covered atrocity as most of the rest of the ship save for the sections of floor that aren't the teleporter: those are thick clear glass that show nothing but empty space and stars beneath the Champions' feet. As for the podiums they're the same sort of garish chrome with a digital screen facing toward the center of the circle. More portraits and names in blaring red have been added this week. Slaine Troyard, the Champion of War and Zombina, the Champion Rotten Girl.

The Overseers are waiting when they all arrive, standing on a floating platform just high enough to be out of reach and back far enough toward a far wall to have a full view of the courtroom. Both are dressed well, Rox in a pressed grey dress jacket and skirt and Blaze in a black suit with the sleeves rolled up to expose his numerous tattoos. Rox is smiling like that cat who ate the canary while Blaze is standing a little farther away than normal and looking uncomfortable.]

Welcome back, Champions! There are fourteen of you here but, if things go correctly, only thirteen of you will leave. I don't think I have to explain at this point what will happen if you choose wrong.

As usual there's no time limit but be sure to keep things interesting. [She folds her arms across her chest, looking down on the Champions with a grin.] Let the trial begin.

...Or wanted to get her inebriated. Killing yourself takes an incredible amount of willpower and desperation to overpower one's innate self-preservation instincts. Maybe she had someone with her to drag her there. So she wouldn't feel anything.

There was like, a ton of bottles in there though. Empty ones. Would she have drank 'em all on her own?

Sharing last drinks with someone, and then enough for her to black out on, perhaps. Or someone emptied a few more bottles deliberately, but I don't see why...

I guesso...but there was red stuff on the floor too, her...blood whatever stuff, I guess? But it didn't look like anybody got into some kinda drunk fight in there, so.

She might have been rotting to the point it just fell off? The bandages might have been holding her together as much as hiding her condition from us.

So that'd mean she was just already leaking everywhere, then?

In theory, yeah.

... she. You all could smell it. Her insides were more mush then working parts by the end.

How much longer could she be walking around like that?

I had asked her. There's not a lot of research on it, but at least until her brain was too far gone, it'd be a week or two. But presumably her body would wear out before then.

I found a needle and thread out of place in the sewing room...perhaps she was using them to try and keep herself together but it was not working very well?

She has said that her body doesn't heal. But she stitches herself up if needed.

She was already starting to rot away, maybe parts of her were already starting to fall apart, like the fingers. You use them a lot through the day, and they're extremities. They may have been the first to go. Alcohol does act like a blood thinner, although I have no idea if the same thing would happen to her preservatives.

What is this preservative stuff anyways? Is it like some kinda chemical? Like bleach?

Embalming fluid maybe? It's not safe to eat that's for sure.

Yeah it...smelled really weird. But I wasn't about to get that close.

Even if she couldn't feel the pain of it...death would still be pretty nasty, right? Maybe she wanted to knock herself out?

If that's it, then that much booze would definitely do it.

She was definitely a booze hound, so I wouldn't put it past her to be able to drink that much in the first place, yanno?

Because if someone else drank with her, they'd be having a hell of a hangover today.

If they'd drunk as much as what they left in the cafeteria, they wouldn't even wanna be here right now.

...less than the rest of us, you mean, right? Is there some way we could test for that?

I dunno, I mean... when you're hungover you pretty much feel like shit. That could be anybody right now.

If they were still drunk we could do a sobriety test. But since we don't know exactly when she died, they could already be sober.
